Steffen, Arterburn marry
Jack Arterburn and Emily Steffen
Emily Steffen and Jack Arterburn were married Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in West Point. Father Frank Lordemann officiated at the double-ring ceremony.
Parents of the couple are Leon and Joan Steffen, of West Point and Joe and Cathy Arterburn of Sidney.
Emily wore an elegant re-embroidered ivory lace over satin and net trumpet gown. The low back tied with a corset, drawing the eye down to the chapel length train that was trimmed all the way around with a scalloped lace. Her dress was adorned with a satin sash and crystal brooch. Her bouquet was of fresh forever young red roses with greens around the bottom.
Emily's sisters, Christine Hutchinson and Allison Bramlet, of West Point, and Heather Steffen, of Omaha were honorary attendants. Bridesmaids were the bride's sister-in-law, Cheryl Steffen, cousin, Mary Lueshen, and niece, Sydney Hutchinson, all of West Point. They wore a floor length full black lace sheath style dress that also had an illusion neckline that was adorned with a satin sash and crystal brooch. The dress had a complementary cap sleeve that buttoned in the back giving their dress a key-hole design.
Flower girls were Brooklyn and Mackenzie Steffen, and Peyton Hutchinson, all nieces of the bride from West Point.
The brothers of the groom, Sam Arterburn of Sidney and Hunter Arterburn, of Nebraska City, were the best men. Groomsmen were the bride's brothers, Matt, Kyle, and Bart Steffen, and nephew, Cole Hutchinson, all of West Point.
Other duties were performed by the bride's nephews of West Point: Braeden Steffen as lector, Carter and Brooks Bramlet and Barrett Steffen as program attendants, and Hunter and Tucker Steffen as gift bearers.
Following the ceremony, Don and Nancy Steffen of West Point, Carmen and Marcia Klein of Fremont, and John and Cindy Arterburn of Imperial, uncles and aunts of the bride and groom, were host couples at the reception-dinner-dance at the Nielsen Center in West Point.
The bride is a graduate of Central Catholic High School in West Point and a graduate of the University of Nebraska Medical Center with a degree in nursing. The groom is a graduate of Sidney High School, earned a degree in Fisheries and Wildlife from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and will complete his Master's degree in Natural Resource Sciences in May 2016.
Following a honeymoon to the Dominican Republic, the couple is residing in Lincoln with their son, Cogan.
