Michael Scott, Tabithia Christner
Tabithia Kaye Christner and Michael John Scott were united in marriage Saturday, April 13, 2013, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Brookings, S.D. Father Andrew Dickinson officiated at the ceremony.
Parents of the couple are Wayne and Noreen Christner of Hamlet, Neb., Dean and Jane Youngkrantz of Lake Lillian, Minn., and John Scott of Pennock, Minn.
The bride, escorted to the altar by her father, wore an ivory satin and organza gown by Mori Lee and carried a bouquet of alstroemeria, calla lilies, and carnations.
Krystle Friesen of Wallace, Neb., sister of the bride, served as the matron of honor.
The bridesmaids were Keri Bensheimer of Elsie, Neb., Angela Brown of Brookings, S.D., Mallory Knippling of Gann Valley, S.D., and Cynthia Holmquest of Sioux Falls, S.D., friends of the bride and groom.
The bride’s personal attendants were Shasta Christner of Tecumseh, Neb., and Sheyla Christner of Wauneta, sisters of the bride.
Jeremy Scott of Brookings, S.D., brother of the groom, served as the best man.
The groomsmen were Darin Sinner of Brookings, Nicholas Smith of Dawson, Minn., and Jonathan Stahl and Mike Gilberts of Willmar, Minn., friends of the groom.
Curt Roland, Brian Franklin, and Mike Hanson of Brookings, friends of the groom, ushered the guests.
Friends and family joined the couple for dinner and dancing at the Swiftel Center in Brookings.
The host couple was Kyle and Jaime Schlomann of Lake Lillian, Minn., sister and brother-in-law of the groom.
The bride is a 2003 graduate of Wauneta-Palisade High School. She earned a bachelor’s degree in agroecology from the University of Wyoming and a master’s degree in animal and range sciences from South Dakota State University.
She is a soil conservationist for the United States Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service (USDA NRCS) and a firefighter for the Brookings Fire Department.
The groom is a 2000 graduate of BOLD High School in Olivia, Minn. He completed the diesel mechanics program at Alexandria Technical College and the South Dakota Law Enforcement Training Academy.
He is a patrol officer with the City of Brookings, an EMT for Brookings Ambulance, a mechanic for DeBeer Small Engine Repair, and a firefighter for the Brookings Fire Department.
The couple resides in Brookings and took a trip to Las Vegas, Nev., in September to celebrate.
