Lester, Treva Hopkins to observe anniversary
The children of Lester and Treva Hopkins will host an open house in honor of their parent's 70th wedding anniversary on Sunday, June 1, 2003 at the Unionville Gymnasium.
The co-op lunch will begin at 12:30 p.m.
Lester Leo Hopkins and Treva Alvera Porter were married June 13, 1933, at the Appanoose County Courthouse.
Treva's sister Bertie married Lazell Strunk the same day.
The couple lived all their lives in Appanoose and Davis counties.
Lester was an auto mechanic at Underwood Blacksmith Shop in Unionville for many years.
They had four children, Richard, now deceased, Paul (wife, Carolyn), Ralph (wife, Sheila) and Letha (husband, Ron Cormaney).
Friends and family are invited to bring memory letters and cards for a memory tree.
Also, bring pictures to share and video cameras.
Guests are asked to bring a favorite dish.
The family will furnish meat, drinks, bread, table service and anniversary cake.
