Mr. Vernon Ray and Mrs. Melba Trout of Bowling Green celebrated their 50th anniversary.
Trout and the former Melba Lee were married by the Rev. Louis Mattea on April 18, 1959, in Washington Park, Ill.
They have five children, Tony R. Trout and Shirley Trout, both of Mesa, Ariz., Timothy Trout and Phil Trout, both of Owensboro, and Paul Trout of Nashville.
They also have 11 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

(Obituary of Vernon Ray Trout: "Vernon Ray Trout, 82, of Bowling Green, passed away Jan. 5, 2016, at Western Kentucky Veterans Center in Hanson. Vernon “Ray” was born May 7, 1933, in Holcomb, Mo., to the late Raymond Trout and Mamie Agnus (Myers) Trout. He retired from General Motors’ Corvette plant, Bowling Green. He was an active member of New Life (First Assembly of God) Church, Bowling Green. He enjoyed coaching baseball teams for his sons, watching the St. Louis Cardinals and building and using his carpentry skills for many friends and family. He is loved and admired my many for his faith in God and devotion/love to his wife, family and church. He was drafted and served in the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his son, Tony Ray Trout; parents Raymond Trout and Mamie Agnus (Myers) Trout; three sisters, Jean (Charles) Mayberry, Agnes Ermalee Trout and Mavis Wilson; and one brother, Raymond “Wiley” Trout. He is survived by his wife, Melba (Lee) Trout, of 56 years; three sons, Timothy Trout (Caryn) of Owensboro, Paul Trout (Sue) of Nashville and Phil Trout of Owensboro; one daughter, Shirley Trout of North Augusta, S.C.; grandchildren Tony Ray Trout Jr. (Natalie), Tiffany Trout, Dana Ray Trout, Cayla Trout, Tara Trout, Chelsea Adams (Shawn), Meg Tully (Brian), Kate Tully, Chris Tully and Matthew-Jon Kitchens; great-grandchildren Jonas Trout, Cormac Trout, Colson Adams and Cameron Adams; several nieces and nephews and many friends; one brother and four sisters, W.T. (Sue) Trout, Mildred (James) Austin, Vera Trout, Brenda (James) Hardin and Carolyn (Ronnie) Thorn; and one brother-in-law, Herbert Wilson. A special thank you to many family and friends for their love and compassion the past several years and a special thank you to the staff of Western Kentucky Veterans Center for the love and support during the past month. Funeral for Mr. Trout is at 11 a.m. Saturday at New Life Church in Bowling Green, with burial in Bowling Green Gardens. Visitation is from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday at J.C. Kirby & Son, Lovers Lane chapel, and begins at 9 a.m. at the church.")
