Charles A. and Bernice Price, Melvern, will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary as guests of honor at a reception from 3 to 5 p.m. July 24, 2004 at the Melvern Community Center.
Reception hosts will be their family.
The reception will be preceded by a family dinner.

(Obituary of Bernice Price: "Bernice L. Price, 93, passed away on Friday, May 16, 2014, at Midland Hospice House, in Topeka, Kan. She was born on Jan. 1, 1921, in Elenton, Ga., the daughter of William and Mabel Clifton Chafin. Bernice had lived in Melvern since 1951. She worked at different jobs through the years, but had always considered being a homemaker the most important. She was a very active member of the Melvern Church of God. On July 23, 1939, Bernice was united in marriage to Charles “C.A.” Price, in Moultrie, Ga. Bernice was preceded in death by her husband Charles on Feb. 2, 2006; son, J. Fain Price, on Aug. 21, 2003; her parents; brother, Ernest Chafin; and sister, Clara Mae Chafin. Bernice’s descendants are her two daughters, Olivia Feltner (Ron), Orange Park, Fla., and Debbie Corby, Topeka; a daughter-in-law, Sharon Price, Derby; and seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 20, at the Melvern Church of God. Burial will be in the Melvern Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8 p.m. on Monday at Feltner Funeral Home in Lyndon. (Obituary of Charles Price: "Charles C.A. Price, Jr., 88, of Melvern, passed away on Feb. 2, 2006 at an Emporia care center. Mr. Price was born on Jan. 19, 1918 to Charles and Susan Livingston Price, Sr., in Norman Park, Ga. He had lived in Melvern since 1955. Mr. Price retired in 1981 from Goodyear, where he had worked in tire building and maintenance. He was a member of the Melvern Church of God, the American Legion Post #317, Melvern, and the V.F.W. Post #6406, Lyndon, and a charter member of the Melvern Cemetery B oard. C.A. served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Pacific and was with the first Occupational Troops to land in Japan after the war. He married Bernice L. Chafin on July 23, 1939 in Moultrie, Ga. He was preceded in death by his son, J. Fain Price on Aug. 21, 2003. Survivors include C.A.s wife, Bernice, of the home; 2 daughters, J. Olivia Feltner and husband Ron, of Orange Park, Fla., and Debbie Corby, of Topeka; daughter-in-law Sharon Price, of Derby; 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 6 at the Melvern Church of God, followed by internment at Melvern Cemetery.
