Ray and Janet White
Ray and Janet White, Meriden, will observe their 40th wedding anniversary on Saturday.
Ray White and Janet Adams were married June 26, 1964, in Topeka.
Their two children and spouses are Del and Kim White, Meriden, and Debbie and David Stewart, Searcy, Ark.
The Whites have six grandchildren and two step-granddaughters.
Mr. White has been employed by Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway in security for 40 years.
Mrs. White has been employed as a receptionist at American Express Financial for eight years.
They also farm and raise Limousin cattle.

(Obituary of Ray White: "Willard “Ray” White, 67 of Meriden, KS., died Nov. 4, at Midland Hospice. He was born Feb. 27, 1945 to John Willard and Geraldine Jones White in Manhattan, KS. He was a 1963 graduate of Seaman High School in Topeka, KS. He served in the Army National Guard, with one year of active duty, serving as Mess area Staff Sergeant. He was employed by BNSF Railroad, from 1963 to his retirement in 2005, working in several areas, as boiler maker, clerk, and security guard. Ray served on the Jefferson West School Board, Rural Water district #1 Board, and was a 4-H Beef Leader. He was active in the Jefferson County Relay For Life for 13 years. He was also a member of the Grantville United Methodist Church. He married his High School sweetheart, Janet Adams in Topeka on June, 26, 1964. She survives of the home. Other survivors include one son Delbert and his wife Kim White, Meriden, KS., a daughter, Debbie and husband David Stewart, Searcy, AR., 7 grandchildren, and one great-grandson, his mother, two brothers, Darrell and wife Jeana White, Meriden and Delayne and his wife Wendy White, Topeka, KS., many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, one brother Ronald, and a grand-daughter Rachel Swanson. Services will be 10:00 AM Thursday at the Grantville United Methodist Church, with burial at the Rochester Cemetery in Topeka. Visitation will be the evening before at the Church from 6:00-8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society Jefferson County Relay for life, or the Grantville United Methodist Church.")
