Darrell and Shirley Weaverling
Darrell and Shirley Weaverling, Topeka, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary at a reception from 2:30 to 5 p.m. June 26, 2004 at Wanamaker Woods Church of the Nazarene, 3501 S.W. Wanamaker Road.
They also plan to celebrate with a future trip to the Canadian Rocky Mountains.
Shirley Wilsman and Darrell Weaverling were high school sweethearts in Mankato.
They were married July 11, 1954, at the Harmony Methodist Church in Mankato.
Reception hosts will be their children and spouses, Tamara and Jeff Powell, Topeka; Kurt and Melissa Weaverling, Topeka; and Amy and Mike Swickard, Topeka.
They have 15 grandchildren.
Mr. Weaverling retired in 1991 from Sears as a sales associate after 30 years of service.
Mrs. Weaverling retired in 1996 from Continental Western Insurance as a claims secretary after 20 years of service.
