Don and Adeline Towle
Don and Adeline Towle, Topeka, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a Mass of Thanksgiving June 19, 2004 at Christ the King Catholic Church.
A dinner followed by a dance to the big band sounds of the Kings of Swing was hosted by their children and grandchildren.
Don Towle and Adeline Moberly were married June 19, 1954, at Holy Name Catholic Church in Topeka. Mr. Towle's uncle, Monsignor George Towle, officiated.
Their children are Mark and Linda Towle, Richmond, Texas; Chuck and Dana Towle, Topeka; Don Towle Jr., Grandview, Mo.; Allan and Chris Towle, Topeka; Sherry and Paul Bures, Topeka; and Tim and Joy Towle, Lawrence.
The couple have 23 grandchildren ranging in age from 23 years to 10 months old.
Mr. Towle is president of the Kansas Bankers Surety Co.
Mrs. Towle is a homemaker.

(Obituary of Adeline Towle: "Adeline Towle Adeline Grace Towle, Topeka, Kansas passed away March 31, 2018. Adeline was the youngest of six children and was born January 20, 1936 in Ottawa, KS to Geneva G. (Sink) and John Oliver Moberly. She moved to Topeka with her family when she was four years old. Adeline graduated from Topeka High School in 1954 and was married to the love of her life, Donald Michael Towle, on June 19, 1954 at Holy Name Catholic Church. They were blessed with five sons and one daughter. While raising their children, Adeline was an active Cub Scout Den Mother and heavily involved in the Topeka Gymnastics Club which they owned. She served as a National girls gymnastics judge as well as serving ten years as the Kansas Gymnastics State Chairman. Adeline was also active in the Topeka Woman's Club where she served as the Treasurer and Auditor. She was a member of the Gilman and Regier Bridge Teams as well as serving on the Endowment Committee of the Woman's Club. Adeline was a member of the Topeka Symphony League where she and Don co-chaired the Diamond Jubilee Ball. Adeline and Don, along with their children, enjoyed racing sailboats at the Shawnee Yacht Club. After retiring from active sailing, they served as race committee which officiated the sailboat races. Don and Adeline were proud of their Towle Irish heritage and became citizens of Ireland while remaining citizens of the United States. They enjoyed traveling the world together with their friends visiting 65 countries on six continents. Adeline and Don were happily married almost 60 years before Don preceded her in death. Adeline is survived by her children: Mark and Linda Towle, Richmond TX, Chuck and Dana Towle, Topeka, Don Towle Jr., Grandview MO, Allan and Chris Towle, Topeka, Sherry and Paul Bures, Topeka, Tim and Joy Towle, Lawrence KS, 24 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 pm Thursday, April 5, 2018, at Christ the King Catholic Church, 5973 SW 25th Street, Topeka, Kansas 66614, followed by a visitation until 8 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Friday, April 6th at Christ the King Catholic Church with burial following at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Topeka.
