Clarence and Dorothy Mae Risebig
Clarence and Dorothy Mae Risebig, Topeka, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Friday.
Dorothy Mae Patrick and Clarence Risebig were married June 25, 1944, in a chapel at Indiantown Gap Military Reservation in Pennsylvania.
Both were from the Kansas City area.
They moved to Topeka in 1966.
Mr. Risebig retired as a hospital accountant.
Mrs. Risebig retired in 2003 from the Topeka Symphony, but continues to teach violin students in her home studio.
Their two daughters, Claudia and Meribeth, reside in Overland Park.

(Obituary of Clarence Risebig: "Clarence W. Risebig, 86, of Topeka, passed away at Midland Hospice House in Topeka on Thursday afternoon, June 26, 2008. He was born Nov. 29, 1921 at Kansas City, KS the son of Philip and Elizabeth Hegwald Risebig. He grew up in Kansas City and graduated from Wyandotte High School. He later attended Rockhurst College and Washburn University in Topeka. Clarence was an accountant at Research Hospital in Kansas City and after moving to Topeka in 1966, auditor and accountant at Memorial Hospital in Topeka. He retired in 1988. He was a US Army Veteran of World War II, serving in the field artillery of the 95 Division, which liberated Metz, France, a fact Clarence was very proud of. He was a member of Second Presbyterian Church for many years and served as church treasurer for 19 years. At his church he was also involved in the Logos program, serving as table parent. He taught one-on-one in a literacy program offered through Washburn University. He had been a member of Golden Rule Lodge #90 AF&AM in Topeka. Clarence volunteered at the V.A. Hospital as well. On June 25, 1944, while on leave from the Army, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Mae Patrick at Indiantown Gap, PA. They had just celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary the day before his passing. Dorothy survives at their home in Topeka. Other survivors include his two daughters, Claudia Risebig and Meribeth Risebig both of Overland Park; nephew, Mike Chandler of Holt, MO and niece, Kathy Steffens of Tifton, GA. He was preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Chandler. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 1st at Second Presbyterian Church in Topeka. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Floral Hills Cemetery in Kansas City, MO. He will lie in state on Monday from 1-9 p.m. at Davidson Funeral Home in Topeka where the family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Second Presbyterian Church or to Midland Hospice, in care of Davidson Funeral Home, 1035 N.
