Nina Cabell Belk and Charles Stephen Wendell were married July 12, 2008, at 6:30 p.m. in the evening.
The ceremony was held at Myers Park Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Daniel Massie of First (Scots) Presbyterian Church in Charleston officiating.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Quail Hollow Club.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hamilton Witherspoon McKay Belk of Charlotte.
She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Nina Hopkins Raine of Atlanta and the late Mr. Thomas Harry Ferguson of Asheville, and Mrs. Katherine McKay Belk-Cook and the late Mr. Thomas Milburn Belk of Charlotte.
A graduate of Groton School in Groton, MA, Cabell received a bachelor's degree in English from Princeton University and is pursuing an M.A. in Spanish Literature at the University of Virginia.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Houston Wendell of Charleston, SC, and Fayetteville, W.Va.
He is the grandson of Mrs. Kathryn Ayres Jacobs and the late Mr. James Noel Jacobs, and Mrs. Patricia Phillips Wendell and the late Mr. Houston Jennings Wendell, all of Fayetteville, W.Va.
A graduate of Porter-Gaud School in Charleston, Stephen received a bachelor's degree in Economics from Princeton University and is pursuing a J.D. at the University of Virginia.
The bride’s sister, Katherine Whitner Belk, was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were the groom’s sister-in-law, Sarah Dixon Wendell, and Hallie Crighton Davison, Anne Lawrence Erdman, Vanessa Grace Freije, Louisa Collier Gehring, Caroline Maxwell Hamilton, Anna Sophie Harman, Caroline Lisina Hoch, Ellen Todd Kane, Kimberly Sara Limentani, Anna Hinson Menser, Sarah Swift Thorndike, and Katherine Margaret Zuger.
The groom’s brother, Richard Preston Wendell, was best man.
Groomsmen were the bride’s brother, Hamilton Witherspoon McKay Belk Jr., and Adam Justin Balkan, Brock Michael Bell, William Anderson Burris, Gavin Hauge Fabian, Saheed Abiola Fadeyi, Salvatore John Iacono, Micah David Kaplan, Ryan Michael Reich, Andrew John Salini, Matthew Keith Seiden, Zachary Benjamin Wendkos, and Michael Evan Zaret.
Ushers were the bride’s brothers, William Daniel Belk and John Wilson Belk, and Douglas Patrick Bouton, Matthew Heston Farmer, Jake Gabriel McCloy, and Andrew John Mellen.
The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner on Friday evening at the Charlotte City Club.
The couple will reside in Charlottesville, Va.
