Charles and Doris Fawl
Charles and Doris Fawl, Overbrook, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary at a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. June 26, 2004 in Fellowship Hall at First Christian Church east of Overbrook on US-56 highway.
They also plan to celebrate later this summer with an Alaskan cruise and land tour with family members and friends.
Doris Jean Rose, of Glasgow, Mo., and Charles Clifford Fawl, of Overbrook, were married June 30, 1954, at First Baptist Church in Fayette, Mo., with the Rev. Marshall Boroughs officiating.
Reception hosts will be their sons and their wives, Mike and Roxane Fawl, Overbrook; Chris Fawl, Overbrook; and Tony and Mitz Fawl, McPherson.
The Fawls have six grandsons and one great-granddaughter.
Mr. Fawl continues to farm, working with cattle and row crops.
Mrs. Fawl is an ordained minister in the Church of the Brethren and is the associate pastor at Church of the Brethren in Topeka.
She also teaches a senior adult class at the Christian Church in Overbrook.
