Robert and Betty Couch
Robert D. and Betty J. Couch, Topeka, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary at an open house from 3 to 5 p.m. June 27, 2004 in the main lounge at Presbyterian Manor, 4712 S.W. 6th.
Robert D. Couch and Betty J. Clark were married June 27, 1954, at the home of the bride's parents in Akron, Ohio.
Hosts will be their children, David and Susan Couch, Smithville, Mo.; Martin and Lynn Couch, Topeka; and Dean Couch, Topeka.
The couple have six grandchildren.

Mr. Couch retired in 1985 from Santa Fe Railway as assistant head clerk after 37 years of service.
Mrs. Couch worked as a Realtor with Kirk & Cobb Co. for eight years and later worked for Topeka Public Schools food service for seven years.

(Obituary of Betty Couch: "Betty June (Clark) Couch, 87, passed away December 30, 2018 at Presbyterian Manor. She was born June 21, 1931 at Red Boiling Springs, Tennessee, the daughter of Winton Clark and Matilda (Miller) Clark. Betty was raised in Akron, Ohio and graduated from Ellet High School in the class of 1949. On June 27th 1954 she married Robert D. Couch of Topeka, Kansas. They enjoyed 52 years of marriage until his death. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and a brother, Willis Shannon Clark. Survivors include: sons, David (Susan), Martin (Lynn) and Dean. Other survivors include three grandchildren, two step grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Betty was a Realtor in Topeka for many years and was employed by the Kirk Company. She was a member of Quivera Heights Church of Christ. A memorial service will be held in the Presbyterian Manor Chapel, Wednesday the ninth of January at 11:00.")
(Obituary of Robert Couch: "Robert D. Couch, 76, of Topeka, formerly of Dodge City, passed away Sunday, January 7, 2007 at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka. He was born September 20, 1930 in Peterton, KS, the son of Lincoln C. and Lois M. Bennett Couch. He was raised in Topeka and was a 1949 graduate of Highland Park High School. He served with the U.S. Army 84th Engineer Contruction Battalion in the Korean Conflict, receiving his honorable discharge in 1954. He worked for the Santa Fe Railway in the Purchases Dept. for 38 years, retiring in 1985. He was also a member of Quivira Heights Church of Christ. He married Betty Clark on June 27, 1954 at Akron, OH. She survives. Other survivors include three sons: David (Susan), Smithville, MO, Martin (Lynn), Topeka and Dean (Nancy), Ottawa, KS; three grandchildren and two step-grandchildren. Mr. Couch was cremated. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, January 13, 2007 at Quivira Heights Church of Christ.
