Wayne and Twila Cline
Wayne and Twila Cline, Topeka, will observe their 50th wedding anniversary at a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. June 26, 2004 at the Dover Federated Church annex in Dover.
Twila Fortner and Wayne Cline were married June 27, 1954, at Pilgrim Holiness Church in Fredonia.
Reception hosts will be their children, Lynda and Pecos Inchaustegui, Mexico City; Debbie and Gerry Buser, DeSoto; and Steve and Lisa Cline, Lenexa.
They have eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Mr. Cline retired from the Kansas National Guard in 1990 at the grade of colonel after 36 years of service.
He worked 25 years full-time for the Kansas National Guard as a flight instructor in both rotor and fixed wing aircraft.
He also served as an aviation facility commander and state Army aviation officer.
Mrs. Cline was secretary at the Wilson County agricultural extension office in Fredonia and school health assistant for 10 years for the Shawnee Heights School District at Tecumseh.
She was a longtime 4-H Club leader.
The couple reside on a farm west of Topeka raising registered Angus cattle.

(Obituary of Twila Cline: "Twila Joan Cline, 81, Topeka, passed away June 22, 2017, at Stormont-Vail Health Center. Twila was born August 13, 1935, the daughter of Albert and Alma von Berckefeldt Fortner in Fredonia, Kansas. Twila graduated from Fredonia High School in 1953. She married the love of her life, Wayne Lewis Cline, on June 27, 1954, in Fredonia. Twila was an active leader in Highland Heights Christian Church, 4H, EHU, and Christian Women s Fellowship. She was a health aid in the Shawnee Heights School District. Twila is survived by her husband, Wayne; children, Lynda Marie Inchaustegui (Pecos), Debora Joan Buser (Gerald), and Steven Wayne Cline (Lisa); eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; siblings, Gerald Fortner (Clydeen), Ernest Fortner, Colleen Templer (Charles), Diane Shoaf (William), and Richard Fortner (Judy). She was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will be 5 to 7 pm. Sunday at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Road, Topeka KS 66614. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Monday at Highland Heights Christian Church, 2930 SW Tecumseh Road, Tecumseh KS 66542. Graveside service will be 3:30 p.m. Monday in Fredonia City Cemetery, South Cement Road, Fredonia KS 66736.
