Sara was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents. She wore a diamond white strapless gown by Bonny with lace flowing asymmetrically across the bodice accented by a shirred band of pink that wraps around to the back and down the semi-cathedral train. The bodice of the dress was decorated with crystals and beading that was all accented by pink sequins. Her jewelry was a gold necklace worn by both her mother and Grandmother Reneau on their wedding day. Her gold earrings were borrowed from her Grandmother Shepler. Sara carried a fresh hand tied bouquet of soft pink roses, pink and white calla lilies, and orchids.
Serving as maid of honor was a friend of the bride, Terri Cohen of Bonita Springs, Fla., and bridesmaids were Sara's cousin, Katherine Smith of Elkins, Mark's sister, Amber Nary of Pinch, along with Sara's friends, Kristen Helmick of Charleston, Johnnie Fink of Charlotte, N.C., and Amanda Ross of Columbus, Ohio. Maid of honor and bridesmaids wore a celadon tea-length renaissance dress by After Six with a wrap bodice and draped v-neckline with a bow that tied in the back at the waist. The bridesmaids carried a fresh hand tied bouquet of soft pink roses, gerber daisies, and tulips. Flower girls all dressed in pink, were Chloe Nary, niece of the groom, and Kendal Given, friend of the groom.
Serving Mark as best man was his dad and close friend, Charles Nary. Groomsmen were Mark's brothers, Charles "Matt" Nary and Joshua "Luke" Nary, both of Pinch, and Sara's brothers, Benjamin "Ben" Shepler, and Bryan Shepler, both of Elkins, and Mark's close friend, John Given of Charleston. Ringbearers were cousins of the bride, Jacob Davis and Patrick Reneau.
Music was provided by Marijane Kiley, pianist; supplemental music was provided by Andrea Garton, pianist, Emily and Jill Okes, duet, and Katherine Smith, soloist, whom are all cousins of the bride. Program attendant was Sarah Reneau, cousin of the bride and guestbook attendant was Leah Shepler, sister- in-law of the bride. Wedding coordinator was a friend of the bride, Ann Baird. A memorial was placed on the piano for the late Patrick Nary and the late Ralph Shepler. They were there in spirit and always present in our hearts. On Friday, April 25, 2008, Charles and Donna Nary hosted a rehearsal dinner for the bride and groom and the wedding party at the Tabernacle of Praise. Following the ceremony, a dinner and dance reception was held at The Ramada Plaza in South Charleston. The wedding party arrived by "The Mountaineer" trolley. A unique family display of Bridal Gowns from both the mother of the bride and mother of the groom were an eye-catching point.
Winter Floral provided all the floral arrangements, Angie Young from A Piece of Cake provided a four-tiered wedding cake along with a WVU football cake for the groom. John Anthony provided music during the reception, video was provided by Huddleston Video and Mike Winland Studios took pictures for this special day.
The couple honeymooned to Hilton Head Island, S.C., and are making their home in South Charleston.
Mark and Sara would like to thank their parents for their love and support. Without them they would not be where they are today. They would also like to thank all their family and friends for their love and support and celebrating this special occasion with them.
