Fran and Ray Partain
Ray and Fran Partain of Topeka will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the Woman's Club of Topeka, 5221 S.W. West Drive.
Fran Branch and Ray Partain were married Oct. 26, 1952, in Arkansas.
Their children and spouses are Doug and Anita Partain, Lenexa; Deb and Andy Flint, Topeka; and DeAnne and Martin Hayden, Asheville, N.C.
The Partains have three granddaughters and four grandsons, Alex and MacKenzie Flint; Sean and Brook Partain; and Grant, Samantha and Jake Hayden.
Mr. Partain retired in 1990 from Southwestern Bell Yellow Pages after 25 years of service.
Mrs. Partain retired in 1988 from Farmers Insurance of Lenexa after 10 years of service.

(Obituary of Ray Partain: "Lewis Ray Partain, 79, of Topeka, passed away, Sunday, September 9, 2012 at Midland Hospice House. Ray was born May 9, 1933 in Ketchum OK to John B. and Effie (Brown) Partain. He married Frances Branch October 26, 1952. She survives. Ray retired from South Western Bell in 1990 after 22 years as a Yellow Page sales rep. While at SWB he was the Union Rep Steward. Ray was awarded the District Sales Award for Sales & Marketing Executives of KC, for South Western Bell Yellow Pages. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and American Legion Capitol Post 1. Survivors include, his wife Fran Partain, Topeka; his children, DeAnne (Martin) Hayden, Asheville, NC, Doug (Anita) Partain, Lenexa, KS; son-in-law, Andy Flint, Topeka; grandchildren, Alex Flint and McKenzie Flint, Grant, Samantha, and Jake Hayden, Sean and Brook Partain; two special great-granddaughters, Frankie and Sammie; siblings, Harold (Lou) Partain, Lathrop MO, Shirley Lintner, Wellsville KS and Maureen MacRae, Gurnee Il; He was preceded in death by his daughter Deborah Debbie Flint and a sister, Ina Landreth. Memorial service will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Rd, Topeka KS 66614, family will greet friends one hour prior to service time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation or American Lung Association sent in care of the funeral home.")
