Jerry and Betty Kipers
Gerald "Jerry" and Betty Kipers of Topeka will be honored with a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Highland Park United Methodist Church, 2914 S.E. Michigan, in celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary.
They plan to celebrate with an Alaskan cruise in June 2003.
Gerald Kipers and Betty Dillon were married Feb. 12, 1953, in Newkirk, Okla.
Hosts will be their children, Gregg and Brenda Kipers, Topeka, and Kim Kipers, Tecumseh; and their two grandchildren, Courtney Kipers and Ryan Kipers, both of Topeka.
Mr. Kipers retired in 1989 as a band director after 35 years of service.
Mrs. Kipers plans to retire on April 16 as a senior tax adviser after 35 years of service.
She has filled various positions and has been a tax preparer for the past 23 years.

65th Anniversary
Gerald and Betty Kipers will celebrate their sky blue 65th anniversary with a reception on Feb. 18th, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at Highland Park United Methodist Church.
The event will be hosted by their children, Gregg (DeAnn) and Kim.
They were married Feb. 12, 1953 and have 2 children, 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
The couple asks for no gifts, just the pleasure of your company.
