Alfred and Jane Tetuan
Alfred and Jane M. Tetuan, Topeka, will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary with with a renewal of their marriage vows at 11 a.m. Saturday at Central Congregational Church, 1248 S.W. Buchanan, followed by a reception until 3 p.m. at the church.
Reception hosts will be their children, Isaiah Tetuan, Elizabeth Tetuan, Sarah Tetuan and John Tetuan, all of Topeka.
Alfred Tetuan and Jane M. Hodges were married Sept. 17, 1977, in Topeka.
Mr. Tetuan retired June 15, 2002, from Southwestern Bell Telephone as a systems technician after 30 years of service.
Mrs. Tetuan is a homemaker.

(Obituary of Jane Tetuan: "Jane M. (Hodges) Tetuan was born on November 26, 1953, in Wichita, Ks. She was married to Alfred Tetuan for 38 years. They started out as high school sweethearts, to prom dates, to soul mates for life. They got married on September 17, 1977 and was together until the end. She left to be with the Lord on November 28, 2015. Jane was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2003. She chose not to do chemo and radiation, but to fight it by nutrition and alternative medicine. The cancer went into remission for 10 years. In August 2013, the cancer came back. She was diagnosed with Metastatic cancer. Doctors would say she only had anywhere from weeks to months to live. She definitely showed them and lived over 2 years longer. Jane knew what she was doing and had faith in our God. Her life was an inspiration to us all. Her unwavering faith in the Lord made her the courage’s fighter that we all knew and loved. Jane was preceded in death by her parents Hilton and Dorothy Hodges, and brother-in-law Ricardo Tetuan. Survivors include Husband, Alfred Tetuan, Children, Isaiah Tetuan, 2 grandchildren Makayla and Caden, of Topeka, Elizabeth (Richard) De Leon, of Topeka, Sarah Jane Tetuan, of Topeka, and John Alfred Tetuan, of Topeka. Brother Rob (Mary Ann Clifft) Hodges, of Phoenix, Az., Mother-in-Law B. Andrea Tetuan, of Topeka, Sister-in-Laws Guadalupe (Michael) Martinez, of Topeka, Mary Virginia (Joseph) Ortiz, of Elk Grove, CA, Brother-in-laws Michael Tetuan, of Topeka, Jose Tetuan, of Topeka. Nieces Jeni (Michael) Grob, of Rochester, MN, their son Jayke, and daughter Reece, Amy (Jace) Waldron, of Lawrence, their daughters Erinn and Gemma, Eulalia (Jesse) Ramirez, of Topeka, their daughters Elaina and Annalise, and sons, Samuel, Parker and Hudson, Christina Tetuan, of Topeka, Samantha Quinones Tetuan, of Topeka, her daughters Mya, Cheyanne, Bibianna, Aaliyah and son Carlos Jr., Nephews Jason (Stephanie) Hodges, of KC, MO, Simon Martinez, of Topeka, his daughters Katja and Anja, and sons Erik and William, Joseph (Julie) Ortiz, of CA, Jaime (Christina) Ortiz, of CA, their son Jaime Jr., Michael Paul Tetuan, of Topeka, Matthew Tetuan, of KC, Tanner Tetuan, of Topeka. Jane attended Topeka High School and Clark School of Business. Jane was blessed to be a stay at home mother. She ran a daycare as her kids were growing up. She was the founder of the Abundant Life Center, which helped people with panic and anxiety. She opened her own business called the Natural Juice Stop. Before her battle with cancer she wrote and published a book called “Unleashing the Power of your True Identity”. She and Al were in the middle of co-writing another book called “Cancer Free”. Both these books were based off of her life experiences. Jane was talented in so many ways. Her all-time favorite was singing and playing the piano. Music was always part of her life. All the way back in high school where her and Al stood next to each other in choir class, to the “Praise Band”, to singing in any church she was involved in, to the other bands “Soul Purpose” and “New Genesis”. She used her talent to tell and lead others to Christ. Her favorite place to go minister was the Topeka Rescue Mission. Everyone who knew Jane knows her love and passion for life. She wanted her life to be a testimony to all, and that’s exactly what it was.
