Vanetta and Jack Kugler
Jack and Vanetta Kugler, Topeka, recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a buffet and reception in Lawrence hosted by their children.
The couple were married Sept. 6, 1952, in Tulsa, Okla.
Their children and spouses are Rhonda and Frank Kline, Seattle; Janci Kugler, Hays; and Karla and Mark Winslow, Independence.
They have six grandchildren, Karly and Kerri Kline, Seattle; Zach Noel, Hays; and Luke, Carolyn and Jackson Winslow, Independence.
Mr. Kugler taught at Seaman High School for 11 years and for 25 years was a guidance counselor at Kaw Area Technical School.
Mrs. Kugler was a piano teacher in the Topeka area for 15 years and taught at West Indianola Elementary School for 20 years.

(Obituary of Vanetta Kugler: "Vanetta M. (Lucas) Kugler died May 5, 2014 in Edmond Oklahoma. She was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Frank and Vanetta Lucas on August 4, 1931. She graduated from Will Rogers High School in Tulsa in 1949. She attended Central College in McPherson, KS, Greenville College in Greenville, Il, and graduated from Seattle Pacific College in Seattle, Washington in 1953. Vanetta married Jack Kugler of Riverton, NE on September 6, 1952. They lived in Topeka, KS from 1955-2006 where Vanetta taught piano for many years, then taught at West Indianola Elementary School for 25 years. She was a member of Topeka and Lawrence Free Methodist Churches. A lifelong pianist and church organist, she enjoyed music and was active in Topeka Music Teachers Association and Christian Women's Club. Since 2006, they have lived in Edmond area and attended the Oklahoma City First Church of the Nazarene. Survivors include her husband, Jack, and three daughters, Rhonda Kline and husband Frank of Seattle WA, Janci Mills and husband Ed of Goodland KS, and Karla Winslow and husband Mark of Edmond, and six grandchildren. A come-and-go visitation with reception will be from 5:30-7:30 PM on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at Crawford Family Funeral Service, Edmond, OK. A service celebrating Vanetta's life will be at 1:00 PM on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at the Cemetery Chapel of Mount Hope Cemetery, Topeka, KS.
