Joseph F. and Y. Jean Denkenberger of Horseheads, NY, marked their 50th wedding anniversary with a family limo tour of the Finger Lakes, lunch a Logan Ridge, and a formal family dinner at Lib's Supper Club on Friday September 27.
Mr. Joseph F. Denkenberger and the former Y. Jean Christofaro were married September 27, 1952 by the Rev. Robert C. Mac Namara at St. Anne's Church in Hornell.
The couple has 3 children. They are Diana J. Lusk of Big Flats, NY, Joan C. Benedict of Cayuta, NY, and Joseph L. Denkenberger of New Albany, IN.
There are 3 grandchildren. Mr. Denkenberger is retired from Ashland Oil Company in Louisville, KY.
Mrs. Denkenberger is retired from Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira.

(Obituary of Joseph Denkenberger: "Joseph F. Denkenberger: Age 81, a previous resident of Horseheads NY, passed away on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at his home in New Albany, Indiana due to an extended illness. Joe was born to Joseph and Alice Seeley Denkenberger on November 8, 1934. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jean Christofaro Denkenberger; children, Diana (William) Lusk, Joan (Joseph) Benedict and Joseph L. Denkenberger; three grandchildren, Deidra Chapman, William Lusk and Amber (Cody) St. Pierre; and three great-grandchildren, Christofaro Chapman and Colton and Caleb St. Pierre. Also surviving Joe is his brother, Edward (Koz) Denkenberger and a sister, Donna (Paul) Boor. He enjoyed his career as a gasoline tanker truck driver for Ashland Oil Company until his retirement. He loved his family and the many pets he had along the way, was a no-nonsense kind of guy that always tried to do right by other people in life. A private funeral service for the immediate family took place at Newcomer Funeral Home in New Albany, Indiana on Tuesday, November 24, 2015. Donations can be made to Hospice or the SPCA in Joe's name.")
