LANCASTER - HARDMAN
Hillary Sturm Hardman and Nathaniel Paul Lancaster were united in marriage on Saturday, June 30, 2007, at Clendenin First Baptist Church with the Rev. Rex Thompson officiating. The Rev. David Kilburn, now deceased, great-uncle of the groom, began the ceremony with prayer.
The bride is the daughter of Roger and Holli Hess of Clendenin and Robert Hardman of Clarksburg. She is the granddaughter of Robert and Peggy Hardman of Bridgeport, Jim and Gennie Hess of Clendenin, and the late H.D. "Jim" and Norma Sturm of Charleston. She is also the sister of the late Rob Hardman of Clendenin. Hillary is a 2003 graduate of Herbert Hoover High School and a 2007 Summa Cum Laude graduate of West Virginia State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in English Education. She is currently employed as a seventh- grade English teacher for Kanawha County Schools.
The groom is the son of Paul and Lori Lancaster of Clendenin. He is the grandson of Melvin and Ruth Lancaster of Campbells Creek, Raymond Brown of Mount Nebo, and the late Shilia Brown of Campbells Creek. Nate is a 2001 graduate of Herbert Hoover High School. He is currently employed with Harris Brothers, Inc., and is a member of the Sheet Metal Union, Local 33. The bride was escorted down the isle by her father, Robert Hardman and stepfather, Roger Hess. She was given in marriage by her parents. Serving as matron of honor was Mary Beth Blake and maid of honor was Britni Schoonover. Attending bridesmaids were Nicole Lancaster, Kayla Lancaster, and Amanda Smith. Flower girls were Jaiden and Braylee Knox. Jennifer Kee and Tammy Knox served as guest book and program attendants.
Best men were Jeff Currie and Adam Sholes. Attending groomsmen were Sam Buckner, Scott Abbott, and Glen Martin. Ushers were Ben Lancaster, Page Inghram, Billy Knox, and David Knox. Ringbearer was Chance Knox.
Wedding coordinators were Judy Knox and Lora Taylor. Jennifer Schoolcraft, pianist, and Kayla Lancaster, soloist, provided music for the ceremony. Immediately following the ceremony, a reception was held in the clubhouse, Oak and Hearth Rooms, at Coonskin Park. The beautiful cake and favors were created by Spring Hill Pastry Shop. The golf-inspired groom's cake was created by A Piece of Cake. Catering and flowers were provided and designed by Cantrell's. DJs Charlie Mays and Bill Recco with Mobile Music provided the entertainment. Photographic memories were provided by Mike Winland Studios. The bride and groom would like to thank everyone who made their wedding a day to remember. The couple honeymooned on a cruise to Nassau and Coco Cay, Bahamas, and Key West, Fla. They reside in Mink Shoals with their cat, Coco.
