THOMPSON 60th ANNIVERSARY
RIMERSBURG - Mr. and Mrs. Milo Thompson of Rimersburg celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on May 30, 2005, with a family dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Daugherty of Knox.
Attending the dinner were the couple¹s three children and five grandchildren.
Milo Thompson and Grace Crissman were married on May 30, 1945, at the Jerusalem United Church of Christ in Rimersburg with the late Rev. Roy L. Frazier officiating.
The couple are the parents of Robert Thompson of Las Vegas, Connie Traficante of Altoona and Kimberly Daugherty of Knox.
They also have nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Mr. Thompson is a retired insurance agent and Mrs. Thompson is a homemaker.

(Obituary of Grace Thompson: "Grace Thompson, 88, of Rimersburg, died Monday, June 23, 2014, at Clarion Hospital. Born on June 23, 1926, in Widnoon, Armstrong County, she was the daughter of William and Iona Fish Crissman. She married Milo Thompson on May 30, 1945. He preceded her in death on October 9, 2012. Mrs. Thompson was a homemaker and a very active and faithful member of the Jerusalem United Church of Christ in Rimersburg, where she served as the church secretary, taught Sunday school, and helped start the Release Time Religious Education Program in the Union School District. She belonged to the Order of Eastern Star in Clarion and was active in the Clarview Nursing & Rehabilitation Center Auxiliary. Mrs. Thompson enjoyed reading, especially her Bible and daily devotions, sewing, traveling and spending time with her family. Survivors include a son, Robert Thompson and his wife, Mary, of Las Vegas, Nev.; two daughters, Connie Traficante of Duncansville, and Kim Daugherty and her husband, John, of Knox; eight grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Logan Daugherty; a sister Elizabeth Hanold; and a brother, Robert Crissman. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, June 28, at the Jerusalem United Church of Christ in Rimersburg. Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday, June 28, 2014, at the church with the Rev. Dr. John W. Gareis, church pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Rimersburg Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made in her name to the Release Time Religious Education, c/o Association of Churches, 1199 Reigel School Rd., Rimersburg, PA 16248. (Obituary of Milo Thompson: "Milo W. Thompson, 92, of Rimersburg, died on Tuesday, October 9, 2012, after a special weekend spent with many of his immediate family members at his home. He was born on August 11, 1920, to Harry and Anna (King) Thompson. Milo married Grace Crissman on May 30th, 1945, and they enjoyed 67 years of marriage together. Milo graduated from Union High School in 1938 and from Kittanning Business College in 1940. After serving in the United States Air Force from 1942 to 1946, he joined his father in working at the family-owned Clover Farm Store in Rimersburg. He was later employed by the Filetti Insurance Agency from 1956-2002. Mr. Thompson lived his entire life in Rimersburg and was proud to do many things to benefit his community. He learned many life skills as a young Boy Scout in Troup #65, and later became a charter member of the Rimersburg Lions Club and Community Club. His service extended to the Masons and the Scottish Rite in New Castle. He was past President of the Clarion County United Way, and was named volunteer of the year for his dedication. He joined the Jerusalem United Church of Christ in Rimersburg 1934, and humbly served the Lord for entire life. He also served on the Board of Directors of Lancaster Seminary, and was President of the Board of Directors at Clarview Nursing Home at the time of his death. He also belonged to the Shearer-Shick American Legion and the VFW Post 7132 both of Rimersburg. He loved spending time with his family and was known for growing beautiful flowers and a bountiful vegetable garden. He lived simply and appreciated every minute of a well-lived life. Milo is survived by his wife, Grace, and three children Robert and wife, Mary, of Las Vegas, Nevada, Connie Traficante of Duncansville and Kim Daugherty and husband John of Knox, eight grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a special grandson, Logan Daugherty, in December of 2010. Friends will be received from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday afternoon at the Varner Funeral Home of Rimersburg and Sunday at the Jerusalem United Church of Christ, Rimersburg from 1:30-2:30pm where Funeral Services will be held at 2:30pm, with The Rev. Dr. John W. Gareis officiating. Interment will follow in the Rimersburg Cemetery with full military honors accorded by the ceremonial squads of the Rimersburg American Legion and VFW. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jerusalem UCC, Rimersburg, PA. and Charitable Deeds and Services, Knox. PA.")
