Overholser 50th Anniversary
DuBOIS — Mr. and Mrs. Robert Overholser (Louise Magness) celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in February.
They were married Feb. 20, 1955, in Clarion.
He worked in the insurance business for 40 years before retiring.
She is a full-time homemaker and also did bookkeeping for the business.
Their family had a celebration in their honor June 18, 2005 at the DuBois Senior and Community Center.
They have six children: David Overholser of New York, Diane Kirk and Dan Overholser, both of DuBois, Donna Kosko of Stump Creek, Denise Overholser of Los Angeles and Debbie Atherholt of Richmond, Va.
They also have 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

(Obituary of Robert Overholser: "Robert L. Overholser, 84, Chestnut Avenue, DuBois, died Saturday, March 8, 2014, at the DuBois Nursing Home. Born June 27, 1929, in Greenville, Ohio, he was the son of the late Cletus V. and Edith K. (Staeger) Overholser. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. and served during the Korean War. On Feb. 20, 1955, he married Nellie Louise Magness Overholser. She survives. He was the owner of R.L. Overholser Insurance and retired after 20 years of service. Previous to that, he worked for Metropolitan Life Insurance where he was an agent and a sales manager for 25 years. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church. He was also a member of the James J. Patterson VFW Post 813 and the George D. Montgomery American Legion Post 17. He enjoyed golfing and bowling. He is survived by his children: David Overholser and his wife, Penny, of Reynoldsville, Diane Kirk and her husband, Douglas, of DuBois, Dan Overholser and his wife, Debra, of DuBois, Donna Kosko of DuBois, Deborah Ann Atherholt and her husband, Dan, and Denise Overholser, both of Mechanicsville, Va.; one sister, Cathy Manning and her husband, Gary, of Gettysburg, Ohio; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Daniel Overholser. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, March 10, 2014, at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home, DuBois. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2014, from the funeral home with Pastor Amy Miller officiating.")
