CARLOCK, Ill. - Mr. and Mrs. Bill Mortimer of Carlock, Ill., former residents of Brockway, celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary Sept. 7, 2010.
Bill Mortimer and Irma Robinson were united in marriage Sept. 7, 1954, at the United Methodist Church in Brockway.
Before retiring, he was owner of Mortimer Trucking and Mortimer New and Used Equipment Sales in Sugar Hill.
She was the secretary and bookkeeper.
They have four children: Bill (Misty) Mortimer of Chino Valley, Ariz.; Marilyn Sicheri of Swoope, Va.; Sandra (Mike) Henning of Carlock, Ill.; and Dixie (Scott) Fulton of San Antonio, Texas; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
In August, the couple celebrated with a week-long family reunion at their home.

(Obituary of Bill Mortimer: "William Andy Mortimer, a lifelong Munderf and Sugar Hill, Pa., resident and a resident of Carlock for the past 11 years, passed away peacefully surrounded by family members on Thursday (Nov. 16, 2017) at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center, Normal. Born on Nov. 13, 1931, in Munderf, Pa., he was the son of the late Glenn E. and Beulah O. Wingard Mortimer. On Sept. 7, 1954, he was married to Irma L. Robinson at the Moorhead United Methodist Church, Brockway, Pa. She survives. Before retirement, he was the owner/operator of Mortimer Trucking and later the owner of Mortimer New & Used Equipment. He attended East White Oak Bible Church in Carlock, and was a member of the East White Oak Bible Church Senior Saints and the Carlock Seniors Group. In his younger years, he enjoyed snowmobiling, motorcycling, traveling, camping, having coffee with friends and neighbors, country gospel and bluegrass music. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, William L. (Misty) Mortimer, Chino Valley, Ariz.; three daughters, Marilyn S. (Duane) Kearns, Swoope, Va.; Sandra L. (Michael) Henning, Carlock; and Dixie L. (Scott) Fulton, Mesquite, Texas; two brothers, Donald (Nell) Mortimer, Corning, N.Y., and James (Bonnie) Mortimer, Brookville, Pa.; three sisters, June (Kent) Grinnen, DuBois, Pa.; Ida (John) Atwell, Brookville, Pa.; and Bertha (Richard) Shaffer of Brockport, Pa.; two brothers-in-law, Dallas McKendree, Munderf, Pa., and Gary Frieders, Bel Air, Md. Bill is also survived by 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He also will be missed by his beloved canine companion, Mitzie. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Thelma Winders, Alta McKendree and Erma Frieders, and a son-in-law, George Sicheri. Calling hours will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc., Brockway, Pa. His funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Larry Van Gundy officiating. Committal prayers and burial will immediately follow at Munderf Cemetery.
