Mr. and Mrs. Walter E. Brothers of Saverton celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary with a surprise dinner hosted by their son and daughter-in-law, Rodney and Valarie Brothers, on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2000, at TJ's in Hannibal.
Victoria A. Welk and Walter E. Brothers were united in marriage on Dec. 4, 1965.
The Rev. V. Eaton officiated.
The Rev. Bill Dexheimer officiated as they renewed their wedding vows for their 35th anniversary.
Mrs. Brothers is the daughter of Rubie Ann Welk and the late H. Vincent Welk.
Mr. Brothers is the son of the late Clarence L. and Elsie Mae Thompson Brothers.
They are the parents of two children, Andrew E. Brothers of New London and Rodney D. Brothers of Hannibal.
They have four grandchildren.
Mr. Brothers has been employed by Hannibal Concrete Products Inc. for 31 years.
Mrs. Brothers has been employed by Hannibal Carbide Tool Inc. for 23 years.
