(Obituary of Leonard Iddings: "Leonard Cecil Iddings Sr., 79, Brockway, died Monday, Nov. 30, 2015, at his home. Born July 15, 1936, in Crenshaw, Pa., he was the son of the late Cecil Leonard and Helen Ann Weisner Iddings. He married his high school sweetheart, Barbara Plyler, on Feb. 2, 1955. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. He served in the U.S. Army, Fort Rucker, Ala., from 1955 to 1957. He also received the Purple Heart of Honor. Leonard worked at OI Brockway as a mould maker before beginning his own contractor's business. Then, he and his wife began a new adventure by opening The Hut Family Restaurant 42 years ago. He loved making his own secret meatloaf recipe and homemade soups. He was also "The Best Breakfast" cook in town. Len will always be remembered for his picture-perfect breakfasts…sometimes, with more than a little "enthusiasm" in the kitchen. Len had no real "hobbies," always work, always making repairs and working on his water garden and landscaping. His grandchildren were his pride and joy; summer was always enjoyable with the grandchildren and friends swimming in the pool. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; daughters, Pamela (Thomas) Ross of Brockway, Peggy (Carl) Tamin of Brockport and Barbara Iddings of Bedford; one son, Leonard (Tammee) Iddings of Holtwood, Pa. He had nine grandchildren: Tara Ross, Thomas Ross, Joshua Tamin, Jessica Tamin, Jacob Tamin, Jeremy Bassetti, Jamie Robinette, Remington Iddings and Cierra Iddings; ten great-grandchildren: Kendrah, Hunter, Josie Lynn, Kairys, Brevyn, Riekyr, Aubrey, Erica, Anthony, Alexis, Aiden; and one great-grand dog, Montana. Leonard is survived by one sister, Carole (Iddings) Foradori of Deatsville, Ala.; and a brother, Donald (Ruth) Iddings of Jacksonville, Fla. In addition to his parents, Len was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Rogalski and a brother, Robert Iddings. There will be no public visitation. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway, with the Rev. Clair Lundberg officiating. Full military honors will be accorded at the funeral home by Parson-Marnati Post #95 of the American Legion. Memorial donations may be made to the the Brockway Ambulance Association, or James E. Van Zandt Medical Center, 2907 Pleasant Valley Blvd. Altoona, PA 16002, in care of Volunteer Services.")
