Lindy 50th Anniversary
REYNOLDSVILLE — Harry “Bud” and Doris Fox Lindy were married Jan. 27, 1955, in Reynoldsville by the Rev. Martin.
He retired in 1991 as a truck driver for his brother, Jim Lindy.
She is a housewife.
Their daughter, Karen Mowrey, hosted an anniversary party at her house Jan. 29, 2005.
They have four daughters: Karen Mowrey and Ida Gordon, both of Reynoldsville, Ruth Reitz of Big Run and Sharon Lindy of Gainesville, Texas; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

(Obituary of Doris Lindy: "Doris F. Lindy, 83, 1079 Skarbek Road, Punxsutawney, died Friday morning, Dec. 11, 2015, at the DuBois Nursing Home, DuBois. Born Dec. 26, 1931, in Cloe, Bell Township, she was a daughter of the late Chester L. and Alberta R. Humbert Fox. On Jan. 27, 1955, she was married to Harry E. "Bud" Lindy Jr. He preceded her in death. Doris attended the Rathmel Elementary School and graduated from Reynoldsville High School in 1951. She worked for the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Washington, D.C., until 1954, when she came home to help her father with his bookkeeping and in raising her younger siblings upon her mother's passing. She was Protestant by faith. Doris is survived by four daughters: Karen S. (Duaine L.) Mowrey of Reynoldsville, Ida N. (Thomas E.) Gordon of Reynoldsville, Ruth A. (Jerry L.) Reitz of Punxsutawney, Sharon L. Lindy of Valley View, Texas; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lee E. (Natashia M.) Fox of DuBois, Maurice J. (Janice L.) Fox of Commodore; four sisters: Mary E. (Thelmer A.) Cline of Creve Cocur, Ill., Evelyn J. (Earl L. Jr.) Hassell of Trenton, Tenn., twin, Dora (Harry A.) Haag of Hanover and Marjorie A. (James W. Jr.) McQuire of Ashville, Ala. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Albert R. Fox; and two sisters, Donna N. Meyers and Joanna I. Wray. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to noon Monday, Dec. 14, at the Bernard P. Snyder Funeral Home in Reynoldsville. A funeral service will follow at noon Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Leon Blose officiating. Burial will be in Syphrit Cemetery, Reynoldsville.")
