Kerfoot 50th Anniversary
DuBOIS - Mr. and Mrs. Charles Kerfoot (Joann Walls) of DuBois will celebrate their 50th anniversary Friday.
They were married Aug. 12, 1955, in Cumberland, Md., by the Rev. Harold Mays.
He retired from Penelec after 34 years of service as a chief serviceman.
She was a secretary for the DuBois Area School District for 23 years.
They have three children: Barbara Spellen of DuBois, John Kerfoot of DuBois and Debra Hart of Rockton; five grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
A family dinner will be held at the home of their daughter Debra Hart to honor the occasion.
The couple are planning a trip to Nova Scotia to celebrate their anniversary.

(Obituary of Charles Kerfoot: "Charles D. Kerfoot, 80, of DuBois died Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center – Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh. Born May 21, 1933 in Philipsburg, he was the son of the late John and Carrie A. (Milliard) Kerfoot. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War. On Aug. 12, 1955, he married A. Joann Walls. She survives. He was a lineman for the PA Electric Co. and retired at the age 60 after 39 years of service. He was also the co-owner of G&K Cement finishing for many years. He was also the assistant business manager of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local Union 1124. He was a member of the Christian Missionary & Alliance Church in DuBois. He also enjoyed hunting, woodworking and enjoyed spending the winter months at his home in Florida. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Barbara Spellen and John Kerfoot, both of DuBois and Debra Kriner and her husband, Scott of Rockton; four grandchildren, William Guthrie, Taylor and Adam Kriner and Emily Hart; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Beulah Ridgway of Philipsburg. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Crystal Guthrie. There will be no public visitation. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the Christian, Missionary, & Alliance Church in DuBois with Pastors Tim Connor and Jon Ditter co-officiating.
