Rokosky 50th Anniversary

RIDGWAY - Stanley and Norma (Salinski) Rokosky of Ridgway celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary June 18, 2005.

They were married June 18, 1955, at St. George's Church in Soldier.

The Rev. John Piatowski officiated.

They have two sons, Randall Rokosky of Ridgway and Christopher Rokosky of Erie and two grandchildren.

They celebrated the occasion with family and friends at a dinner June 18, 2005 at the Thunderbird Restaurant, DuBois.

(Obituary of Norma Rokosky: "Norma M. Rokosky, age 84, of 429 Ash St., Ridgway, died Thursday morning at UPMC Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh following a brief illness. She was born July 25, 1932 in Sykesville, PA, daughter of the late Frank and Eliza Reekie Salinski. She married Stanley P. Rokosky on June 18, 1955, he preceded her in death on June 16, 2009. She resided in Ridgway since 1955 and was Catholic by faith. She loved her grandchildren and great grand-daughter dearly. They were the joy of her life. She was a life long Pittsburgh Steelers fan. She was a 1950 graduate of the Sykesville High School. She had been employed by Alltel for 35 years. She is survived by 2 sons Randy S. (Gretchen) Rokosky of Ridgway and Christopher P. (Tish) Rokosky of Erie, 4 grandchildren: Arielle, Trevor, Lauren and Nolan, 1 great grand-daughter Aris, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Funeral and Committal Services for Norma M. Rokosky will be private. Officiating will be Rev. Donald Hunter, Pastor of the Awakening Alliance Church. Burial will be at Lakelawn Memorial Park in Reynoldsville. There will be no visitation. Memorials, if desired, can be made to Family House at University Place, 116 Thackeray Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15213. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Thompson Funeral Home.")
