Carrie Louise Courtney and Darren Gene McComas were united in marriage at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, April 4, 2009, at Saint Andrew Presbyterian Church, Pinch, WV. Officiating were The Reverend Jim Walter and The Reverend Brent Yancey. The bride was escorted by her father, Craig Raiguel Courtney, and given in marriage by her parents.
The bride is the daughter of Craig R. and Carolyn Courtney of Pinch. She is the granddaughter of the late William Ernest Jr. and Dorcas Roach and the late Craig S. and Louise Courtney. A graduate of George Washington High School, Carrie received a Business Degree from West Virginia State College, Dental Hygiene from West Liberty State College and Doctor of Dentistry from West Virginia University. She currently has her own dental practice in Charleston. The groom is the son of the late Darrell and Eulah McComas. He is the grandson of the late Robert and Shirley Brunty and the late Walter and Ruby McComas. A graduate of Barboursville High School, Darren received a Business degree from Marshall University and is the owner of House Medic, specializing in bath and kitchen remodeling.
Serving as matron of honor was Dawn Mays of East Liverpool, Ohio, long time college friend of the bride. Bridesmaid was Catherine Courtney, sister-in-law of the bride, Junior Bridesmaid was Maureen Courtney, niece of the bride, Flower girls were Anna Courtney and Margaret Courtney, nieces of the bride and Ring girl was Sarah Courtney, niece of the bride. Best man was Bruce Boley from Spotsylvania, Virginia, long time friend of the groom. Groomsmen were Britt Courtney of Fairfax, Virginia, brother of the bride, Darrek McComas of Huntington, WV, son of the groom and Tim Courtney of Fairfax, Virginia, nephew of the bride. Guest book attendant was Kristina Elkins. Music was provided by Cookie Ranson, pianist and Mark Boyd, soloist and organist. A special thank you to Will and Danna Price, Photographer; Linda Osborne, Coordinator; and Linda Mullins, Custom Catering. Immediately following the ceremony, a reception was held at Coonskin Park. The couple enjoyed a honeymoon in Las Vegas, Nevada.
