Swisher 50th Anniversary
DuBOIS - Mr. and Mrs. James R. Swisher (Nancy Jo Falvo) of DuBois celebrated their 50th anniversary Saturday.
They were married Sept. 3, 1955, at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church by the Rev. Fr. John Mignot.
He retired from Swift Kennedy Insurance.
She retired from First Commonwealth Bank.
They have four children: Charles Swisher of North Huntingdon, and R. Mark Swisher, Karen Dietz and Kathleen Neville, all of DuBois, eight grandchildren and one great-grandson.

(Obituary of Nancy Swisher: "Nancy J. Swisher, 79, Treasure Lake, DuBois, formerly of North Church Street, DuBois, died Thursday, Nov. 20, 2014, at Penn Highlands DuBois. Born March 20, 1935, in DuBois, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Nancy Piazza Falvo. On Sept. 3, 1955, she married James R. Swisher. He survives. Nancy retired from the loan department at the Deposit Bank in DuBois after 22 years of service. She was a 1952 graduate of St. Catherine's School. She was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church where she was also a member of the Altar Rosary Society and active in many church affairs such as the RCIA program, working spaghetti and bereavement dinners and singing in the church choir and cantoring at mass. Nancy is survived by her children: Charles Swisher and his wife, Linda, of North Huntingdon, R. Mark Swisher and his wife, Maryanne, Karen Dietz and her husband, David, and Kathleen Neville and her husband, Jeffrey, all of DuBois; a sister, Rosemary Dugan and her husband, John, of DuBois; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by three brothers: Don, Charles and James Falvo; and one sister, Antoinette "Betty" Snyder. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 23, 2014, at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home, DuBois. A Scriptural Wake Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 24, 2014, at St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Msgr. Richard Siefer as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Catherine's Cemetery. Memorial donations may be sent to the charity of the donor's choice.")
