Cheryl Lynn Maliszewski of Charleston and Jeffrey Paul Baxter of Johnson City, TN, were united in marriage on Sunday, May 25, 2008 at Pendleton Point in Blackwater Falls State Park.
Adam Herrington blessed the couple and the Rev. Anne Rex officiated the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Thomas Maliszewski and Rosalind Long of Charleston. She is the granddaughter of Anne and Leonard Maliszewski of Western Springs, IL and the late Martha and Ralph Long of Indianapolis, IN. She is a 2005 graduate of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville with a Bachelor of Architecture degree. Cheryl is a designer at Weiss/Manfredi Architects in New York, NY.
The groom is the son of Dr. Mark Baxter and Debra Baxter of Tennessee. He is the grandson of Eve Kommel and the late Richard Kommel of Detroit, MI. He is a 2005 graduate of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphic Design. Jeff is a Partner at Future Friends in New York, NY. The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her mother and father. Serving as matron of honor was her sister, Laura Maliszewski Baker. Brides-maids were Audrey Hasen Russell, Melissa Watkins, Lauren Baxter, Emily Boder Ewing, Elaina Lord, and Ashley Reynolds.
The best man was Paul Schlacter. Groomsmen were John Truex, Matthew Alexander, Patrick Hazari, Spencer Joy, Blake Randles, and Van Tyler Blackaby. A reception was held at the Black Bear Lodge in Canaan Valley. The newlyweds honeymooned with a road trip from Seattle to Los Angeles and are making their home in Brooklyn, NY.
