Kearney 50th Anniversary
BROCKWAY — Mr. and Mrs. Homer Kearney of RD2, Brockway, will celebrate their 50th anniversary at an open house, hosted by their family, from 2-5 p.m., Sunday, May 2, at the Hormtown Community Center.
The couple request no gifts.
Homer Kearney and Charlotte Griggs were married April 30, 1954, at Moorhead United Methodist Church in Brockway.
The Rev. Henry J. Masman officiated.
They have three children: Jim Kearney of Brockway, Bill Kearney of Falls Creek and Mary Ann Raybuck of RD2, Reynoldsville.
They also have seven grandchildren.

(Obituary of Homer Kearney: "Homer G. Kearney, age 96, of Granville Road Brockway, Pa died May 30, 2014 at Highland View Healthcare, Brockway, Pa. He was born November 19, 1917 in Brockway the son of William James and Lillian Belle Humphreys Kearney. He married Charlotte Griggs who preceded him in death on Feb. 12,. 2008. He was retired from Rockwell Co and worked in quality control. Surviving are 3 children, James of Brockway, William (LaRaine) of Falls Creek and Mary Ann (Harry) Raybuck of Beechwoods. Seven grandchildren survive Eric and Ryan Raybuck, Kendra, Kimberly, Kolten, Karley, Kasidie Kearney.His Border Collie, Daisy, also survives. One brother William Victor (Pat) preceded him in death. Homer was attended Moorhead United Methodist Church. He was a member of Sugar Hill Grange 1969., Masonic Lodge, F.O.E. 965 of Falls Creek and Parson-Marnati American Legion Post 95 of Brockway. He was an avid Pittsburgh Pirate fan and enjoyed riding his Kubota. He served in the Army during World War 2, as a Sergeant with the 94th Artilliary and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He played bass guitar for the Evans Sisters & Wichita Strings and Bonnie Smith & Country Sounds. Visitation will be Monday June 2 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 7: 00 P.M. at Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Trask officiating. Burial will be in Beechwoods Cemetery, Falls Creek, Pa. Memorials are to be made to Make A Wish in Punxsutawney, Pa.")
