Madere 50th Anniversary
DuBOIS — Mr. and Mrs. Henry Madere of DuBois will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday.
Henry Z. and Mary Ellen Aravich were married July 24, 1954, in the chapel at Edwards Air Force Base, Calif.
They have three children: Marianne Atkinson and Toni Vanderpool, both of DuBois, and Mark of Olmstead Township, Ohio.
They also have four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He is a retired letter carrier from the U.S. Postal Service.
She is retired from Brockway Glass.
A family cookout will be held in their honor in DuBois, Sunday, July 25.

(Obituary of Mary Madere: "Mary E. Madere, age 88, of South Avenue, DuBois, Pa., died Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017, at Penn Highlands DuBois. Born on Jan. 28, 1929, in DuBois, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Frank and Tessie (Davis) Aravich. On July 24, 1954, she married Henry Z. Madere Jr. He survives. She was a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served during the Korean War. Mary retired from the Brockway Glass Company after 18 years of service. She was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church and was a charter member of Women in the Military. She is survived by two daughters, Marianne Atkinson and her husband Richard, and Antionette Vanderpool and her husband Gary, both of DuBois, Pa.; a son, Mark Madere and his wife Doreen of Cleveland, Ohio; a brother, Robert Aravich of DuBois, Pa.; a sister, Helen Kester of Seaford, Va.; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one step grandchild. Mary was preceded in death by a sister, Marcella Paladino; and four brothers: Frank, Eugene, Joseph and Vincent Aravich. Visitation will be held Monday, Oct. 2, 2017, from 5-8 p.m. from the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., DuBois. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2017, at 10 a.m. from St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard Siefer as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery where full military honors will be accorded by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard. Memorials may be placed with DuBois Central Catholic, P.O.
