Dick 60th Anniversary
SIGEL — Mr. and Mrs. Cloyd O. Dick Jr., 685 Pine Run Road, Sigel, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary Sept. 6, 2004.
They plan to spend the day with their family.
Cloyd O. Dick Jr. and Olive M. Minich were married Sept. 6, 1944, at the bride’s home in Shermans Dale.
The Rev. Harold V. March performed the ceremony.
He is a veteran of World War II, having served with the U. S. Army in Europe.
He is a former teacher, having taught in Perry and Cumberland counties.
For 30 years he worked in industrial engineering, first with TRW Inc. in Harrisburg and Minerva and Alliance, Ohio, and later with Babcock and Wilcox in Alliance.
He retired from Babcock and Wilcox in 1985.
Prior to her marriage she was a bookkeeper.
After their children were grown she returned to the workforce as the manager of Stark County Farm Bureau in Minerva.
She retired in 1982.
He is an ardent hunter and fisherman.
Both enjoy camping, gardening and have traveled extensively.
They have three children: Mrs. Nathan (Marguerite) Ware of Calhoun, Ga.; Cloyd O. Dick III of Succasunna, N.J., and Mrs. Rodney (Barbara) Peters of Shermans Dale; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

(Obituary of Cloyd Dick: "Cloyd Ostend Dick Jr.(known to many as Junior) 93, of Shermans Dale, PA. passed away Friday, March 13, 2015 at Chapel Point Retirement Center, Carlisle. Cloyd was preceded in death by his loving wife of 70 years, Olive (Minich) Dick; his parents, Cloyd Sr. and Esther Viola (Shatto) Dick, two brothers, Neil and Vincent Dick and a sister Esther Shearer. He was the oldest living descendant of Benjamin Franklin and Ida Velvor (Still) Shatto. Cloyd and Olive lived in Minerva, Ohio, Sigel, PA and Shermans Dale. He was a WWII veteran, first sargent, who served in Europe 1944-1946, and was an avid sportsman. He loved God and cherished family and friends. He was a Methodist lay minister and a member of Shermans Dale UM Church. He is survived by his children, Marguerite Ware and husband Nathan of Sugar Valley, GA., a son, Cloyd III and wife Bobbe of Hazle Township, PA and Barbara Peters and husband Rodney of Shermans Dale. 7 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, March 21, 2015 in the Shermans Dale United Methodist Church. Rev, Nancy Goff will officiate. Burial, with full military honors being rendered by VFW Post 7463, New Bloomfield, will be in Young's Cemetery, Shermans Dale. Friends may call at the church two hours prior to the service. (Obituary of Olive Dick: "Olive M. Dick, 89, of 527 Burnhill Road, Shermans Dale, passed peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, September 14, 2014, surrounded by her 3 children and her husband of 70 years. Born January 22, 1925 in Shermans Dale and was the daughter of the late Hollie C. and Miriam Minich. She was a 1942 graduate New Bloomfield High School, attended Thompson Institute and was a life long member of Shermans Dale United Methodist Church. They spent many winters in Thomotosassa, Florida and spent countless hours volunteering at the Florida State Fair. Prior to moving back to Pennsylvania Olive and Cloyd had lived in Minerva, Ohio and Sigel, Pennsylvania. Olive loved to travel and had visited Europe, Central America and traveled extensively in the United States and Canada. She enjoy her family and loved being with them. Camping, hunting, fishing and gardening were among her favorite things. Surviving are her husband of 70 years, Cloyd O. Dick Jr., a son, Cloyd O. Dick III and wife Bobbe of Hazel Twp., PA; 2 daughters, Marguerite Olive Dick Ware and husband Nathan of Sugar Valley, GA. and Barbara Elaine Dick Peters and husband Rodney of Shermans Dale, PA. A Brother, Harry Minich and 7 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, John and Walter Minich and 2 sisters, Mary Jane and Anna Minich.
