(Obituary of Clarence Evans: "Clarence Richard Evans, age 81, of Frogtown, passed away on February 8, 2015 at the Golden Living Center in Clarion. Born on April 20, 1933, in Fairmount City, he was the son of the late Irvin B., Sr., and Mary Elizabeth (Dwyer) Evans. He married the former Shirley McAninch on June 19, 1954 and she survives. Last year, they celebrated 60 years of marriage. For more than 40 years of his life, he worked for Millers and Maple Mountain as a lawn and garden mechanic. Clarence helped many people with their lawn mower problems. He just couldn't tell people no - until his health declined. He was a member of Nevin Memorial Church and also attended Liberty Street Church of God in Clarion, where he was known as the "Candy Man." He enjoyed giving candy and love to the children. He really enjoyed that ministry and making children happy. He loved the Lord and spending time with his family. They will miss him deeply. Clarence is survived by his four sons, Richard and his wife Pat of Deanville, PA, Greg and his wife Nancy of Chesapeake, VA, Gary and his wife Cindy of Roseville, PA, and William and his wife Laura of Newmansville, PA; 12 wonderful grandchildren, Rani, Derick, Brady, Aaron, Heather, Amanda, Arianna, Tanner, Lia and Parker Evans; Juan and Thomas Isaza of Columbia, South America; two beautiful great-granddaughters, Gwendolyn and Cassandra Evans. He is also survived by a sister, Mary Guntrum; and a brother, Jim Evans. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Irvin Evans, Jr., Darl Evans; and sisters, Grace Miller, Bernice Yates; and one grandson, Ryan Scott Evans. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Liberty Street Church of God Building Fund, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or Camo Cares. Arrangements were under the care of the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory, 330 Wood Street in Clarion, where visitation was held on Wednesday, February 11. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, February 12, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Sam Swick of Nevin Memorial Church, and Pastor Bruce Wilson of Liberty Street Church of God, officiating.
