Mauthe 50th Anniversary
DuBOIS — William “Bill” and Shirley (Lewin) Mauthe of DuBois celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at a surprise anniversary party held in Apollo Aug. 14, 2004.
The party was hosted by their children and spouses.
The couple were married Aug. 14, 1954, at the Presbyterian Church in Plum Township, Allegheny County, where her parents were also married in 1934.
The couple have lived in DuBois all 50 years of their of marriage.
He is employed at Mauthe, Yutzey and Gabler.
He enjoys fishing, hunting, camping and traveling.
She retired from Bi-Lo and enjoys sewing, painting, camping, gardening, taking pictures and doing family genealogy.
The couple have a daughter Mrs. Jerry (Kimberly) Sedlacko of Huntingdon; a son, Bill Mauthe of Mountain Run Road, DuBois, and a granddaughter.

(Obituary of William Mauthe: "William L. Mauthe, 86, of Bush Court, DuBois, died Saturday, Aug. 8, 2015, at the DuBois Nursing Home. Born May 9, 1929, in Clarion County, he was the son of the late Edward and Mabel (Johnson) Mauthe. On Aug. 14, 1954, he married Shirley (Lewin) Mauthe. She survives. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served in the Korean War where he was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a certified public accountant for 60 years, working for himself and was a partner in the accounting firm of Mauthe, Yutzey and Gabler. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in DuBois. He loved to fish, hunt and camp. He also enjoyed golfing. William is survived by two children, Kimberly D. Sedlacko and her husband, Jerry, of North Huntingdon and William J. Mauthe and his companion, Tina, of DuBois; a brother, Donald F. Mauthe and his wife, Amy, of Corsica; and a granddaughter, Krysten Mauthe of DuBois. He was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Mauthe and two sisters, Olive Pasquarette and Mae Hamilton. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2015, at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home, DuBois. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug.12, 2015, from the funeral home with Pastor Lance Tucker officiating. Full military honors will be accorded by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard from the funeral home. Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery.
