MOORE 60th ANNIVERSARY
RIMERSBURG - A recommittal service was held on Monday, December 29, 2003, for Mr. and Mrs. Edgar C. Moore of Rimersburg at the Wildcat Weslyan Methodist Church in honor of their 60th wedding anniversary.
Edgar C. Moore married the former Fredella Rankin on December 29, 1943, at the Templeton Weslyan Methodist Church with the Rev. J.C. Himes and the Rev. Earl A. Moore officiating.
The bride is a daughter of James A. "But" and Minnie (Walter) Rankin.
She is a homemaker and enjoys quilting.
The groom is a son of Earl A. and Cora (Fox) Moore.
He is a retired minister and enjoys driving.
The couple have four children, Howard Jay Moore of Howard (near Lock Haven), Mashall Clair Moore of Barnesboro, Eunice Loy of Albany, N.Y. and the late Vernon Alcana Moore; and six grandchildren, Kevin Loy, twins Scott Loy and Brian Loy, Eric Paul Loy, Marshall C. Moore Jr. and Charles "Chuckie" Moore.

MOORE 61st ANNIVERSARY
RIMERSBURG - The Rev. and Mrs. Ed Moore of Rimersburg renewed their wedding vows in the Allegheny Wesleyan Methodist Church at Rimersburg on Dec. 29, 2003, in honor of their 60th wedding anniversary.
The Rev. Mark Deeter of Rimersburg, pastor of the Wesleyan Methodist Church, performed the ceremony.
The bride's brother, Marshall Rankin of New Bethlehem, escorted Mrs. Moore down the aisle, while Florance Rankin of New Bethlehem, sister-in-law of the bride, served as bridesmaid.
Ron and Joan Custer of Rimersburg played and sang "Tears are a Language God Understands."
Marshall Moore Jr. of Northern Cambria, grandson of the couple, read from Psalms 90:10.
Tiffany Zimmerman of Rimersburg played the piano and Philip Rhoyd of Rimersburg and Marshall Moore Jr. served as ushers.
Twila Zimmerman of Rimersburg was in charge of making plans for the ceremony.
The couple's son, Howard Jay Moore of Howard photographed the ceremony.
He was born on the couple's third anniversary in 1946.
Twenty-five guests attended the ceremony and luncheon in the church annex.
Mrs. Moore is a homemaker who enjoys making quilts.
Rev. Moore was in the Army from Nov. 22, 1942, to Dec. 18, 1945, in the 53rd Armored Infantry Battalion 4th Armored Division under Gen. George Patton in the European Theater in France.
He attended the Allentown Bible School from 1949 to 1952.
He served as pastor in Seven Stars, near State College from 1965 to 1968 and was ordained with the Wesleyan Bible Holiness denomination, and is now retired.
Now celebrating their 61st anniversary, the Rev. Ed Moore and Fredella Rankin were married on Dec. 29, 1943, in the Zion Wesleyan Methodist Church at Templeton, by the late Rev. J.C. Himes.
Mrs. Moore is the daughter of the late James Aleanna and Minnie A. Rankin of Rimersburg.
The Rev. Moore is the son of the late Rev. Earl A. and Cora P. (Fox) Moore of Templeton.
The couple have four children, Howard Jay Moore of Howard, Marshall Moore of Hastings, Eunice Loy of Clifton Park, N.Y., and the late Vernon Moore.
The couple also has six grandsons, two great-grandsons and one-great-granddaughter.

(Obituary of Edgar Moore: "Edgar C. Moore, age 90, of Rimersburg, PA passed away Friday, October 26, 2012 at Miners Medical Center in Hastings, PA. He was born on July 6, 1922 in Templeton, PA, the son of Earl A. and Cora P. (Fox) Moore. Edgar was in the CCC Camp at Homer City in 1939 and worked at different places throughout Armstrong and Clarion Counties during his life. From December, 1942 through December, 1945 he honorably served his country in the 53rd Armored Infantry Battalion, 4th Armored Division under General George Patton, and received three bronze stars for his service in Normandy, North France and Central Europe. On December 29, 1943, Edgar married Fredella Rankin from Rimersburg at the Wesleyan Methodist Church in Templeton, and the wedding was officiated by the late Pastor JC Himes. He first came to Allentown in 1949 and was a student at Allentown Bible College until 1952. During his life he lived in a number of towns in the Lehigh Valley, including Allentown, Windgap, Bethlehem and Centre Village. Edgar worked at a number of jobs in the Lehigh Valley area, including various jobs in the construction industry as an equipment operator or truck driver. Faith was paramount in Edgar’s life; he was the former pastor of God’s Missionary Church in Seven Stars, Huntington Co., PA and most recently was an active member of Wildcat Wesleyan Methodist Church. Community was important to Edgar, and he was very involved throughout the Rimersburg area. Edgar was a member of the Rimersburg American Legion and was honored to participate in a number of military services over the years. He also donated his WWII medals to the Rimersburg Veterans Museum. Edgar was gifted as a mechanic and could fix anything that was broken. People around Rimersburg knew him as the friendly man who rode around on his scooter, even carrying treats with him to feed any dog he might have met along the way. He will be best remembered for his giving and loving spirit and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. His legacy will be carried on by his sons, Howard J. Moore and wife, Patricia, of Howard, PA and Marshall Clair Moore and wife, Leona Jane, of Barnsboro, PA; daughter, Eunice M. Loy and husband, Ronald, of Clifton Park, NY; grandsons, Marshall Moore Jr. and wife, Brenda, Charles T. Moore, and Kevin, Scott, Brian and Eric Loy; and five great-grandchildren. Edgar was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife of 62 years, Fredella M. (Rankin) Moore, who passed away April 11, 2006; son, Vernon A. Moore; brother, John E. Moore; and sister, Alice A. Moore. Relatives and friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Sunday, October, 28, 2012 at the Bauer-Hillis Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 758 Main Street, Rimersburg, PA. (Obituary of Fredella Moore: "Fredella M. Moore, 80, of Sloan Street, Rimersburg, died unexpectedly at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2006, at her home of natural causes. Born Oct. 12, 1925, in Madison Township, Clarion County, she was the daughter of James Alcanna and Minnie Inez Walter Rankin. She was a 1943 graduate of Union High School in Rimersburg. Mrs. Moore was affiliated with the Allegheny Wesleyan Methodist Church near Rimersburg and was the first delegate to the Stoneboro Conference after the church was founded in 1941. She was married in Templeton Dec. 29, 1943, to the Rev. Edgar C. Moore, who survives. Following her marriage, she lived in Brownswood, Texas, while her husband served in the U.S. Army at Camp Bowie. She then served as a minister's wife in churches in Allentown, Windgap, Warriors Mark and Tyrone before retiring back to Rimersburg. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are two sons and their wives, Howard J. and Patricia Moore of Howard and Marshall Clair and Leona Jane Moore of Barnesboro; one daughter, Eunice Loy and husband, Ronald, of Clifton Park, N.Y.; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She also is survived by three brothers, Marshall Rankin and wife, Florence, and Roy Rankin, all of Rimersburg, and Romaine Rankin and wife, Betty, of Niceville, Fla.; and two sisters, Mildred Troutman of Rimersburg and Jane Mills and husband, James, of Punxsutawney. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by a son, Vernon Alcanna Moore, in July 1955; four brothers, James, Gene, Daniel and Chester Rankin; and two sisters, Kathleen Centorcelli and Donnie Swartz. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Richard D. Hillis Funeral Home, Rimersburg.
