Alicia Reed and Scott Reed were married Sept. 27, 2003 at Danforth Chapel on the University of Kansas campus in Lawrence.
The Rev. Ellen Reid-Gold officiated the double-ring ceremony.
Parents of the couple are Max and Judy Reed of Great Bend and Ted and Linda Reed of Bonner Springs.
Grandparents of the bride are Lorene Birkholz of Argonia and the late Wayne Birkholz, and the late
Anna and Clarence Reed.
Grandparents of the groom are Jim and Pat Reed of Kansas City and Wayne Pickett of Bonner Springs and the late Dora Lee.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a champagne satin strapless gown with ecru on the bodice and a chapel-length train trimmed with pearls.
Her elbow-length veil was attached with pearl combs.
She carried an autumn medley bouquet of fashion and apricot roses, sunflowers, freesia and seasonal berries.
Maid of honor was Alexis Reed of Lawrence, sister of the bride.
Bridesmaids were Erinn Barcomb of Lawrence, Carrie Buckley of Topeka and Catherine Lewis of Kansas City, all former roommates of the bride.
They wore wine colored satin dresses and carried bouquets that matched the bride’s.
Best man was Steve Schrick of Lawrence, childhood friend of the groom.
Groomsmen were Ted Reed II of Bonner Springs, brother of the groom, Chris Crowder of Bonner Springs and Mike Kelley of Fort Smith, Ark., college friends of the groom.
Ring bearer was Blake Reed of Manhattan, nephew of the groom.
Taper lighter was Heather Reed of Manhattan, sister of the groom.
The groom’s father, best man, groomsmen and ring bearer were all dressed in black tuxedos with wine brocade vests and straight black ties and wore boutonnieres of fashion and apricot roses and seasonal berries.
The bride is a graduate of Great Bend High School and a 2001 graduate of the University of Kansas with degrees in sociology and anthropology.
She is currently a graduate teaching assistant at KU and will graduate in May 2004 with a master’s degree in sociology and women’s studies.
The groom is a graduate of Baseshor-Lindwood High School and a 2001 graduate of Kansas State University with degrees in political science and German.
He is currently employed by Keifs Audio-Video in Lawrence.
The couple honeymooned in Paris, France and now reside in Lawrence.
