Boyd — Boeken

Lisa Ann Boyd and Roger Allen Boeken were united in marriage July 19, 2003 at First Christian Church of Great Bend with the Rev. Bill Johnson officiating the double-ring ceremony.

Parents of the couple are Peggy Boyd of Great Bend and the late Doug Boyd, and Wilbur and Barbara Boeken of Wichita.

Given in marriage by her two nephews, Austin Hooper and Cameron Hooper, the bride wore a candlelight
ivory sheer organza gown styled in a Princess silhouette and featuring delicate beaded embroidery
scattered across the front and at the Sabrina neckline.

The semi-full skirt swept into its own semi-cathedral train and featured matching beaded embroidery.

Her elbow-length illusion veil was accented by a headband of crystals and she carried a crescent-shaped bouquet of white roses with stephanotis and plumosa.

Matron of honor was Sally Hooper of Round Rock, Texas, twin sister of the bride.

Bridesmaid was Kim Dombrowsky of Dallas, Texas, sister of the bride.

They wore celadon green sheer Georgette floor-length evening gowns designed with an empire waist and softly draped sleeveless scoop neckline and carried round hand-tied bouquets of French white parrot tulips and mini calla lilies surrounded by stephanotis and plumosa.

Small ivory ribbon roses with celadon ribbons encased the bouquet handles.

Best man was Donavan Harpool of Wichita.

Groomsman was Kent Matson of Valley Center.

Ushers were Bob Dombrowsky of Dallas, brother-in-law of the bride and Jim Hooper of Round Rock, brother-in-law of the bride.

Musicians were Brad Shirer of Great Bend, organist, and Joel Frederick of Lawrence, vocalist.

The bride received a master of arts degree in English from Fort Hays State University and is employed as assistant principal at Free State High School in Lawrence.

The groom received a master of science degree in environmental health science from the University of Kansas and is employed as an environmental geologist with the Kansas Department of Health and Environment in Topeka.

The couple reside in Lawrence.
