Dietz - Penka
Denise Nicole Penka and Timothy John “T.J.” Dietz were united in marriage Sept. 27, 2003 at First United Methodist Church of Great Bend.
Parents of the couple are Kenneth and Rhonda Penka and Lana and Delane Dietz, all of Great Bend.
Grandparents are Ed and Evelyn Penka and Darrell and Colleen Rexwinkle, Don Schamaun, Lila Bow man and Alvina Dietz, all of Great Bend.
The Rev. Mary Al Titus officiated the double-ring ceremony.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an ivory matte satin gown styled in Princess silhouette and featuring a halter neckline atop a slightly raised waist encircled by rows of delicate beadwork above and below a beaded soutache design.
The semi-full ballroom skirt swept into its own extended chapel train and featured a border of beads and soutache matching the waist.
Her elbow -length veil was trimmed in cording.
Deep pink freesia flowers were placed in her hair.
She carried a hand-tied bouquet of burgundy calla lilies, burgundy roses, berries and deep pink freesia.
Matron of honor was Kate Steeves of Manhattan.
Maid of honor was Gina Penka of Manhattan, sister of the bride.
Bridesmaids were Lisa Penka of Great Bend, sister of the bride, Tara Dimick of Bellevue, Neb., and Erin Dunlap of Manhattan.
They wore two-piece cranberry matte satin dresses featuring v-neck and back, sequin-trimmed waist and A-line floor-length skirts.
They carried hand-tied bouquets of pink and lavender lithianthus, deep purple carnations, cranberry lilies and berries.
Best man was Matt Seba of Tongonoxie.
Groomsmen were Mike Dietz of Buhler, brother of the groom, Brandon Hemphill of Basehor, Tony Penka of Manhattan, brother of the bride, and Brett Hemphill of Manhattan.
Ushers were Grant Wallace of Lawrence and Dillon Wallace of Wichita, both cousins of the bride.
Flowergirl was Addie Soukup of Great Bend, cousin of the groom.
Ringbearer was Sean Skaggs of Stilwell, cousin of the bride.
Music was provided by vocalist, Cassie Hildebrand of Lee’s Summit, Mo., and Ross Hildebrand of Great Bend.
Pianist was Nancy Baxter of Great Bend.
The bride is a 1997 graduate of Great Bend High School and a 2001 graduate of Kansas State University with a degree in advertising.
She is employed as marketing coordinator for Mutual Aid eXchange (MAX) in Overland Park.
The groom is a 1996 graduate of Great Bend High School and a 2001 graduate of K-State with a degree in marketing and a minor in economics.
He is employed by Prime Source Building Materials as a territory manager in Kansas City. The couple reside in Eudora.
