Kathryn Leigh Sobba, the daughter of Marvin and Karin Sobba of Overland Park, and Kyle Parks, the
son of Lyle and Kay Parks of Allen, were united in marriage on July 5, 2003 at Curé of Ars Catholic Church of Overland Park.
The Rev. Darren Henson officiated the double ring ceremony.
The bride was given in marriage by her father.
She wore a white beaded satin gown.
She carried a bouquet of yellow daisies, pink roses and blue delphiniums.
Her head was adorned with a Swarovski crystal tiara featuring an elbow length veil.
Maid of honor was Anne Sobba of Overland Park.
Bridesmaids were Julie Charay of Topeka and Tracee Watts of Wichita.
They wore floor length periwinkle colored satin dresses.
They carried bouquets similar to the bride’s.
Best man was Matt Eaves of Ottawa.
Groomsmen were Doug Parks of Wichita and Nate Rice of Newton.
Ushers were Anthony Taylor of Lane and Doug Clapham of Larned.
Flower girl was Sarah Sobba of Overland Park.
Music was provided by organist, Debbie Kirschner of Overland Park.
Vocalists were Steve Courtney and Julie O’Rourke, both of Overland Park.
The bride is a May 2002 graduate of Baker University, with a bachelor of science degree in accounting.
She is employed as an accountant at KPMG of San Antonio, Texas.
She is the granddaughter of Frances Burns of Great Bend.
The groom is also a May 2002 graduate of Baker University, with a bachelor of science degree in biology.
He is a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army and is attending Physical Therapy School at San Antonio.
He is the grandson of Leona Rose of Hoisington.
