Moran - Miller
Julie Dawn Miller, the daughter of Chari and Allan Miller of Great Bend, was married to Todd W. Moran, the son of Gail Moran of Olathe and Michael Moran of Lenexa, on May 24, 2003 by the Rev. Gary Teske at Trinity Lutheran Church of Lawrence.
The bride choose an elegant ivory matte satin gown styled in a Princess silhouette featuring a portrait neckline atop an empire bodice fully embellished with cafe embroidery and delicate beadwork detailed with amber crystal accents.
Her semi-full skirt swept into its own semi-cathedral train and was bordered in a band of embroidered and beaded satin.
Matching beaded embroidery extended down the back of the train.
An ivory illusion veil edged in satin cording fell from a tiara of enameled flowers and crystals. She carried long-stemmed red roses surrounded by burgundy Gerbera daisies tied nosegay fashion with hemlength ivory and champagne organza ribbons.
She was attended by her matron of honor, Kelly Casey of Manhattan, and bridesmaids, Julie Kueneke
of St. Louis, Mo., Lisa Anderson of Olathe, all friends of the bride, Jill Wiechman, the groom’s sister.
They all wore elegant black matte satin evening skirts topped with individually chosen champagne matte satin tops accented with amber crystal beadwork designed for each girl’s choice of top by the bride’s mother.
They carried a cluster of long-stemmed burgundy and red Gerbera daisies tied with champagne
ribbons.
The bride’s personal attendant was Sarah Goetzke of Denver, Colo.
The bride’s pre-school students from Raintree Montessori School attended as ring bearer, flower girls and bell ringers.
Candles were lit by Jenny and Cam Bates of St. Louis, cousins of the groom.
The scriptures were read by Joan and Doug Panning of Ellinwood.
The groom was attended by his best man, Matt Wilburn of Washington, D.C., and groomsmen, Troy Wussow and Scott Wilbanks both of Kansas City, Andrew Kueneke of St. Louis, all friends of the groom, and Aaron Wiechman, the bride’s brother-in-law of Valley Center.
Ushers were Brian Anderson of Olathe, Bruce Bates of Denver and Eddie Schuele of St. Louis.
Music for the occasion was provided by organist Chris Wottan of Lawrence, and trumpeter Kevin Sieker of Ellinwood.
Vocalists were Jill Wiechman and Jason Weil of Topeka.
A buffet dinner, reception and dance were held in the ballroom of the Marriott Spring Hill Suites in Lawrence following the ceremony.
The couple honeymooned at The Palms in Excelsior Springs, Mo., and are at home in Lawrence.
The bride is a graduate of Kansas University and is a pre-school teacher at Raintree Montessori School of Lawrence.
The groom graduated from the University of San Diego of San Diego, Calif., and is currently a computer help desk technician at Johnson County Community College of Overland Park.
