Audrey Jenkins, the daughter of Jacqueline Mater and stepdaughter of Bren DeBusk of Albert, and Eric
Johnson, the son of the Rev. William and Lois Johnson of Great Bend, were united in marriage on Aug.
3, 2002 at the First Christian Church of Great Bend.
The Rev. William Johnson officiated the double ring ceremony.
The bride was given in marriage by her brother, Luke Jenkins.
She wore a bridal gown of slipper satin that had a wedding band collar of beaded schieffli lace with a diamond shaped keyhole.
The princess bodice with basque waistline was accented with beaded schieffli lace.
The long sheer English net sleeves enhanced with motifs of beaded schieffli lace.
The back of the gown had a keyhole accented with strands of pearl drapes.
The sheath satin skirt was hemmed with beaded schieffli lace.
The gown was complimented with a detachable cathedral train accented with windows of beaded
schieffli lace.
Her head was adorned with a three-tiered veil of sheer illusion accented with pearls.
It was held in place by a tiara with pearl strands and iridescent miniature leaves flowing.
She carried white roses with baby’s breath, ivy, tree fern and white tulle throughout her bouquet with burgundy and white carnations tipped with burgundy and white ribbons cascading down in a diamond shape.
Matron of honor was Tamara Stumps of Holyrood.
Bridesmaids were Jennifer Mickle of Odin, Jerri Codner of Wichita, Kim Herren of Wetmore and Victoria Schmidt, Erin Henry and Penny Marley, all of Great Bend.
They wore mock twopiece gowns of forest green satin.
The tank style gown had a modified square neckline and princess seams with an Aline skirt. Self-fabric buttons accented the back waist.
They carried a round nosegay of miniature burgundy carnations accented with leather leaf and pearl with satin streamers. Best man was Cortenay Damm of Great Bend.
Groomsmen were Greg Horning and Jeff Noffsinger of Manhattan, Jeff Schinstock of Wichita, Jason Sawyer of Bentonville, Ark., and Aaron Sawyer of Kansas City.
Flower girl was Courtney Campbell, daughter of the bride.
She wore a miniature bride’s gown.
Ring bearer was Ethan Damm, friend of bride and groom and son of best man.
Ushers and taperlighters were Don Browning of Wilson, brother of the bride, and Ian Jackson of Greeley, Colo., friend of the groom.
Organist, Connie Weiser of Great Bend, provided music.
Vocalists were Joseph Sierra and Heather Meyer of Great Bend.
Personal attendants to the couple were J.P. Flaherty of Great Bend, Jeremy Herren of Hoisington, Erika Norberg of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Anita Pitts of Claflin.
“Adopted” grandparents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Don Popp of Susank.
Grandparents of the groom are Novella Hinton of Great Bend, Betty Johnson of Poplar Bluff, Mo., the late Elvis Hinton and the late “Cobb” Johnson.
Guest book attendant was Ruby Popp, “adopted” grandmother of the bride.
Reception servers were Angle Browning of Wilson, sister-in-law of the bride and Bonnie Jeffrey of Claflin, friend of the bride.
The bride is a graduate of Newman University.
She is employed at Riley Elementary School.
The groom is a graduate of Kansas State University.
He is employed at Great Bend Feeding.
The couple reside in Great Bend.
