Heather L. Jenkins, the daughter of Jack and Iris Jenkins of Great Bend, and Steven D. Reed, the son
of the late Walter and Laura Reed, were united in marriage on Nov. 30, 2002, at First Presbyterian
Church of Great Bend.
The Rev. Hal Staats officiated the double ring ceremony.
The bride was given in marriage by her father.
She wore a bridal white matte satin gown styled in a princess silhouette, featuring long fitted sleeves and a Queen Anne neckline atop a lightly fitted bodice all fully embellished in pearled and sequined re-embroidered alencon lace medallions.
A semi-full ballroom skirt swept into its own semi-cathedral train and was scattered and bordered by deeply scalloped matching hem lace.
Her head was adorned with an elbow length veil with a tiara covered in pearls.
She carried a bouquet of plum and white roses accented with babies breath and greenery.
Matron of honor was Frankie Pelster of Great Bend.
She wore a plum gown. Junior bride was Shelbi Jenkins of Great Bend, daughter of the couple. She wore a white gown with a veil.
They carried bouquets just like the bride’s.
Best man was Kevin Reed of Yukon, Okla., brother of the groom.
Junior groom was Wesley Jenkins of Great Bend, son of the couple.
Ushers were Terry Reed of Aurora, Colo., and Rick Reed of Great Bend, both brothers of the groom.
Flower girl was Madison Reed of Yukon, niece of the groom.
Ringbearer was Gaberial Thompson of Edmond, Okla., cousin of the bride.
Taperlighters were Mallory Mitchell and Mellany Mitchell, both of Liberal, nieces of the groom.
Music was provided by organist, Bill Space, flutist, Jessica Bayless, cousin of the bride, and vocalist, Amanda Goodwin, cousin of the bride.
She is a graduate of Great Bend High School and attended Barton County Community College.
She is the manager of Smokers Outlet of Great Bend.
He attended GBHS and is employed by Venture Corp.
