Hartsell - Melton
Meggin Elizabeth Hartsell and the Rev. Jeremiah Dean Melton were united in marriage Dec. 30, 2000 at First Assembly of God Church in Great Bend. The Revs. Jonathan Hollis of Wichita and David Hartsell, father of the bride, officiated the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of David and Margie Hartsell of Great Bend. The bridegroom is the son of Gail and Georganne Melton of Wichita. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of white bridal satin featuring a sweetheart neckline and long fitted sleeves, all fully embellished with pearled and sequined Schiffli lace medallions.
The full ballroom skirt was fashioned with a faux sheath front and swept into its own semi-cathedral train that was scattered and bordered in matching embellished Schiffli medallions and hem lace. A headpiece of white satin roses and pearls held her elbow-length satin-edged veil of illusion. She carried a nosegay of pink roses accented with white astible and pearls. Matron of honor was Janella Hartsell, of Springfield, Mo., sister-in-law of the bride.
Maid of honor was Drusilla Melton of Wichita, sister of the groom. Bridesmaids were Angela Lanz of Springfield and Susie Feltman of Wichita. They wore icy pink floor-length lace and georgette dresses fashioned with rosettes and a train. They carried nosegays of pink roses accented with white astible and pearls. Best man was Jeremy Yancey of Waxahachie, Texas.
Groomsmen were Gavin Hartsell of Springfield, brother of the bride, Davin Moorman of Fayetteville, Ark. and Benjamin Potts of Toledo, Ohio, cousins of the groom. Ushers were Adam Wells of Wichita, Lance Nelson of Woodward, Okla., Eric Woodside of San Diego, Calif., uncle of the groom, and J. F. Holmes of Sidney, Iowa, cousin of the groom.
Taperlighters were Aimee and Ashley Melton of Wichita, sisters of the groom. Flower girl was Marissa Parr and ringbearer was Ky Heeke, both of Great Bend. Music was supplied by vocalists Todd Pettibone of Springfield, Lonna Henderson of Great Bend, the bride and her mother.
The organist and pianist were Ila Parr of Great Bend and Janella Hartsell. The bride is a graduate of Great Bend High School. She plans to graduate in May from Evangel University in Springfield with a degree in elementary education. The bridegroom graduated from Wichita Heights High School and Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Waxahachie, Texas. They live in Springfield, Mo.
