Coddington Anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Coddington of Burdett will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary from 1-4 p.m. on Aug. 3, 2002 at Burdett Senior Center.
Coddington and the former Floy L. Huddleston were married on Aug. 3, 1942, at Great Bend.
Their children and spouses will host the occasion.
They are Nancy and Barry Romine and Dennis and Mary Coddington, all of Emporia, Alan and Debbie Coddington of Olathe, and Susan and Jay Johnston of Lindale, Texas.
They have seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend.
The couple request no gifts.

(Obituary of Cecil Coddington: "BURDETT — Cecil Allen Coddington, 91, died Nov. 2 at his home in Emporia. Born May 22, 1919, in Cherokee, Okla., he was the son of Royal Earl and Gladys Rose Monroe Coddington. A lifetime resident of Alexander and Burdett, moving to Emporia in 2005, he was a retired farmer and self–employed electrician. On Aug. 3, 1942, he married Floy Louise Huddleston at Great Bend. She died on July 31, 2006. Mr. Coddington was a member of the Community of Christ Church of Great Bend, the Burdett Seniors, where he was past president for 13 years, Wet/Dry Routes Chapter of the Santa Fe Trail Association, Ness County Historical Society, Farmers Union, Golden Keys and Alexander High School Alumni, all of Alexander. Survivors include two sons, Alan Coddington and wife Debbie of Olathe, and Dennis Coddington and wife Mary of Emporia; two daughters, Nancy and husband Barry Romine of Emporia and Susan and husband C.H. "Jay" Johnston of Arlington, Texas; a sister, Faye Mostrom of Burdett; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and seven stepgreat-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Alton M. Coddington, DVM, and Leonard Schadel; two sisters, Reita Graves and Myrrl Bondurant; and two grandsons, Matthew Johnston and Brian Johnston. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Morell Funeral Home in Larned, with the Rev. Bob Robison and the Rev. Keith Schadel presiding. Burial will be at the Alexander Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until 8 p.m. today with family receiving friends from 6 until 8 p.m. and from 9 a.m. until service time on Friday at the funeral home. A memorial has been established to Burdett Seniors or the Alexander Golden Keys Senior Center.")
