Miller Anniversary
John R. (Jack) Miller, Sr. and Ruth I. Brackeen were married on October 4, 1941 in Claflin, Kansas.
Mr. Miller was employed by Phillips Petroleum Company in numerous locations including Louisiana, Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Montana.
The Millers have two children, John R. Miller, Jr. and Monica R. Koenigsberg, and two grandchildren, Semra C. Staut and Evan G. Miller.
On September 28-30, the Millers had a surprise 60th anniversary weekend celebration and visit from John and Chloellen Miller of Woodbridge, Virginia and Semra and Marc Staut of Lawrenceville, Georgia.

(Obituary of Ruth Miller: "GREAT BEND — Ruth Ilene Miller, 93, died Aug. 23, 2013 at Sterling House of Great Bend. Born Oct. 12, 1919 in El Dorado, she was the daughter of Lloyd and Mildred (Kirkman) Brackeen. On Oct. 4, 1941, she married John R. “Jack” Miller in Great Bend. A resident of Great Bend since 1994, moving 14 times, having lived in many states, she was a secretary for several firms, including Phillips Petroleum Company Drilling Tools Division in Oklahoma City, Okla. Mrs. Miller was a member of the First Christian Church in Great Bend. Survivors include her husband, John R. “Jack” Miller, of the home; a son, John R. Miller, Jr. and his wife Chloellen, Woodbridge, Va.; a daughter, Monica Koenigsberg, PhD, San Angelo, Texas; a brother, Bob Brackeen and his wife Pat, Joplin, Mo.; two grandchildren, Semra Staut and Evan Miller and his wife Tonya Anderson; and one great-grandchild, Audrey Miller. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Eledra Fuhr and Betty Bailey; and a brother, Billy Brackeen. Private graveside services were held at the Great Bend Cemetery with the Reverend William F. Johnson officiating. There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to the First Christian Church or Golden Belt Home Health and Hospice, in care of the funeral home.
