Sorensen Anniversary
Howard and Claire Sorensen of Wichita will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary from 2-4 p.m. Nov. 4, 2001 at Central Baptist Church in Great Bend with a party-program hosted by and for family and friends.
The Sorensens were united in marriage June 1, 1941, in Velma, Okla., where he served his first church as pastor.
They have served in pastorates in Tennessee, Nebraska and Kansas.
They were commissioned as missionaries to the Hopi and Navajo Tribes in Keams Canyon, Ariz., before retiring in 1982.
They served in the interim minister's program until they moved to the American Baptist Estates in Wichita.
The couple have three sons and four grandchildren.
The couple request no gifts.
