Butler residents Rachel Steighner and Thomas Rodgers Jr. were united in marriage during a sunset ceremony Aug. 24 at Destin Beach, Destin, Fla. The Rev. Pat Cobb officiated. A reception was held Sept. 7 at Betsy’s Barn in Portersville.

The bride is the daughter of Kevin and Lynette Caparosa of Butler. Parents of the bridegroom are Thomas Sr. and Martha Rodgers of Slippery Rock.

The bride is a 1997 graduate of Butler High School. She works for Armstrong in Butler.

The bridegroom is a 1995 graduate of Slippery Rock High School. He works for Cannon Curb in Pittsburgh.

The couple is making their home in Butler.
