Drinens celebrate 60th anniversary
Carrol and Norma Drinen will celebrate
their 60th wedding anniversary with a
family dinner March 26, 2006.

(Obituary of Carrol Drinen: "Carrol Dean Drinen was born Jan. 19, 1928, in Haviland to Violet Kizzar Drinen and Jesse Drinen. He spent his early years in Haviland and then in various towns in north western Kansas, where his father was minister of churches. He attended high school at Friends Academy in Haviland and graduated high school in Woodbine. He received his associate engineering degree at Kansas State University. He married Norma Jean Langhofer March 26, 1946, on her family farm near Woodbine, where he farmed for the next 20 years. He also worked at Ersham Manufacturing in Enterprise and Vacu-Blast Corporation in Abilene. He was a member of the Hesston United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Norman Jean Drinen of Hesston; four daughters, Janet Sherraden and husband Ken of Chapman, Connie Beuttel and husband Bill of Renton, Wash., Patsy Danziger of Newton, and Cindy Princ and spouse Mark of Cedar Park, Texas. He is also survived by five grandsons, Scott Sherraden, Shawn Sherraden, Jeffery Shank, Todd Shank, Quinten Danziger; three granddaughters, Staci Sherraden, Stephanie Sherraden, and Diane Princ; four great-grandsons, Dylan Shank, Timothy Sherraden, and Brandon Sherraden, and Evan Shank of Puyallup, Wash.; one great-granddaughter, Sidney Shank; two half brothers, Ross Drinen of Tulsa, Okla., and John Drinen of San Antonio, Texas. He was preceded in death by his mother, Violet Kizzar; father, Jesse Drinen; stepmother, Lea Drinen; brother, Jesse Squire Drinen; and sister, Ora Jean Clarey. Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 12, at the Hesston United Methodist Church.
